Species: Summer: most common waterbirds can be found; occasional Hobby; Black Redstart, Sedge and Reed Warblers, Blackcap, Chiff-chaff and Willow Warbler. Passage: occasional rarer Grebes; Garganey, Common Scoter, Scaup, and Red-breasted Merganser; the occasional raptor, such as Osprey, Hobby; most wader species pass through such as Oystercatcher, Grey Plover, Little Stint, Dunlin, Whimbrel and Turnstone; the occasional Pomarine or Arctic Skua; Little Gulls, Sandwich, Arctic, Little, or Black Terns; plus passerines in the surround vegetation and open areas, such as Larks, Pipits (including Rock), Wheater, Whinchat and Redstart. Winter: occasional Red-necked, Slavonian and Black-necked Grebes; Bittern; Bewick Swan; Brent Geese; Scaup, Common Scoter, Goosander and Red-breasted Merganser. Rarities: have included Bonaparte's Gull, White-winged Black Tern, Shore Lark, Red-throated Pipit, Desert Wheatear and Ortoland Bunting. |
