CHOC'S PREDICTIONS

1st  team are away to Clipstone, and after our FA Vase cup exit last week we can now concentrate on the league with a win for the 1st team lads 3-0.

The Reserves who have only played one league this season, are at home in the Notts Intermediate Cup against Keyworth. A tough game and if we can put out a decent side we should progress into the next round, a win for Mull and the lads 2-0.

Our 3rd team are under new management and have had a bad start, but it’s early days yet and I can see a point coming our way with a draw for Darren, 2-2 this week.

New team (formerly Gunthorpe) the 4ths had a bad result last week going down 3-1 but hopefully they can get back to winning ways and a win for Chris and Ron (formerly Stanley and Oliver) 4-0.

The u19s have one of the weirdest starts you can begin with, a game abandoned due to a serious injury then 3 draws on the bounce, last week they were 4-0 down to Arnold Town and came back to snatch a draw 4-4 so, another draw is on the cards for this Wednesday’s game against Rossington Main. 2-2.

Acadamy,(formerly Russ and Stu Moss’s team) are sitting top of the league unbeaten and Russ tells me that the young guns are loving it playing in a high standard men’s league in the NSL. A Notts Minor Cup match this week and another win 4-0.

U16s, Andy’s lads have started well this year and are unbeaten with a home game against Bulwell. Hopefully they can remain unbeaten, a win for us 3-2.

U15s, Dean’s lads have started off where they finished last year romping it with two out of two for them and still top of the league, and I predict another win 5-1.

U14s, Dave’s lads have only played one game as yet so hard to predict but the side Dave has this year will bring home the 3 points. 4-1

U13s, Mick’s team played 3 won 2 drew 1 (that one played in a cow field with 10 inches of grass) and another toughie this week for them but a win for me 3-0.

U12s, played 4, won 4 and sitting top of the league, but the top two play each other and they are unbeaten as well in 4 games, sorry to say but I predict a defeat 0-2, all replies on a postcard.

U11s, well welcome to eleven a-side football and haven’t they done well? But it is a tough game today and a defeat of 0-2 I fear.

U10s, another Colts team who have started well is the u10s with 3 wins out of 3.  Well done to Mick and Carl and of course the lads and all their supporters, why not and another win 1-0 this week.

U9s, only played one so far but they had a win so I can see win no. 2 for this week score 3-1.

U8s, not allowed to publish this team’s results (FA regulations) so Richard or Nick,  if you can let me know how you go on I can then predict your team’s results. Home game this week and why not predict a win for the youngest Colts team, 4-3.

U12 girls, sitting at the top of the league after a very good start but they, like the u16s have no game this week.

U16 girls, terrific result with only 8 players last week and I know Andy and his crew were delighted on how they performed but like the u12 girls no game this week.

Vets, well another team who sit top of the league and are unbeaten after two games but resting this week, no game.

These are my predictions and I show no favouritism with any of the teams, if I have predicted your team to lose and get it wrong that is brilliant but if I predict your team to win and they lose that is not so brilliant.

All the best for the new Season.

Update 10 September 2008

Calverton progressed to the 2nd Qualifying Round of the FA Carlsberg Vase last night with a fine 4-1 win over higher league side Brocton from the Cannock area. This earned the club £800 in prize money (considerably less when the expenses are taken out) and a match against Glossop North End here on Saturday 20th. The goals came from a Craig Boulton hat-trick and Jason Westwood. Click here for Brocton's match report.

Update 5 September 2008

Apologies for the absence of any updates over the last couple of months. The plan was to completely replace the site with a new one but this hasn't transpired. In the meantime I have rushed through an update to last years site so please feel free to contact me if any of the links or if anything else is wrong.

Over the next few weeks I'll work towards transferring everything over to a new design and give the thing a fresher look. Please bear with me whilst I do this.

All references to last season have been removed with the exception of some recent photos.

New team photo and 2 match reports added for the Under 14s.
