Sport Relief - Football School

The Football School will be supporting Sport Relief on Saturday 27th March by dribbling with a ball for one mile. As all members are aged between 4 and 7 years of age this I think you will agree it will be quite an achievement. They are seeking sponsors for their efforts and the Football school hope to raise in excess of £100 which will beat the total of £76 raised for Children in Need.

Should anyone from other teams wish to join in, parents or players please do not hesitate to join us at 10.00 on pitch 3. You can pick up sponsorship forms from Bill Bennett should you wish to raise some cash for Sport Relief.

Thank you for your support

CHOC’S PREDICTIONS 20th & 21st MARCH

Well I managed to get 8 right and 7 wrong with the younger sides doing well for me, so this week I expect our senior sides to turn it round, but good news was that 3 of our teams have reached the Cup finals and with some more hoping to do the same, will let you know when they play the finals and lets give all of our teams the support.

1st team at last Mike got his first point of his campaign but they are also in a cup match next Saturday with a win could take them into the Semi-Finals, but no game this week.

Res, a fantastic result last week earning a place in the Semi-Finals with a 3-1 win over Dronfield who have only lost once all season but this week it is 2nd v 3rd and we need a win and I fancy us to go second so come on lads prove last week was no fluke.

NSL side my prediction was spot on last week and I think Tony and Lee can turn the season around now they have a settled side, this week it is Boots a tough game and possibly another draw.

NAA, narrowly got beat last week 3-2 but they will battle on to save relegation and they play the same team as last week so I think we can turn the result around and come away with all 3pts.

U19s, without yet another game SHOCKING it is now 4 weeks and the next game is on the 29th March so I will predict early, without any match practice for weeks I can’t see us getting anything out of this one so a defeat is on the cards.

U16s, Won in the league last week which could give them runners up but mid-week they beat league leaders in the cup and are now in the final, well done to all concerned a great achievement, this week it is Wollaton and another 3pts can we get that runners up spot?

U15s, Fought out a goalless draw last week but it is old favorites Carlton Town this week and with a win should move us up the league and could take them upto 2nd, a win for me.

U14s, another colt’s team to make a cup final so well done boys and your management deserved the Manager of the Month award this month, back to league action and another 3pts should come your way but just be careful.

U13s Lost last week and another team without a game this week.

U12s drew last week against worthy opponents so well done boys, this week they should get all 3pts with bottom of the table Keyworth.

U11s, good win last week 4-0 but this week it is 2nd v 4th and a win would take us to 3rd but a tough game awaits them, a draw for me.

U10s Sun. still 2nd in the league and with a good win last week 6-0 should put them in the right frame of mind for this one this week and they should come home with all 3pts.

U10s Sat, back in action this week and they take on a basement club and we should come home with all 3pts.

U9s Sat, lost last week and can you believe no game this week.

U9s Sun, Lost last week but this week we should get something out of the game but I fear it may only be a draw.

U8s, drew last week 0-0 which makes them still unbeaten in 7 games so well done Gareth and the boys, this week it is away to Breaston Park and I fancy us getting a win.

U7s, no game this week

U13 girls, well just in case you didn’t know that our girls turned up trumps again by reaching the Final of the Cup by beating Sherwood 1-0 it would be nice if they could get the double and we will be shouting you on. Well done the Jo and her girls.

U10 girls, no game this week again.

Vets, after a well earned rest and a good dressing down by the management this week they hope to put it right, so I see no reason why 3pts should not head our way.

Come on Calvo

CHOC’S PREDICTIONS 13th & 14th MARCH

Well I only managed to get 5 right so a lot of our teams let me down and yourselves in big style, disappointing results from all our senior sides not one getting a point, but back to this weeks.

1st team Having fought back to 2-2 and then conceding a goal in the dying minutes resulting in us losing 3-2 but Mike can get a lot out of the game with a good second half performance this week it is a bottom team in Grantham and I am sure Mike can get his first win and we do need a win so come on lads do it for your club.

Res, a disappointing result for the ressies last week but they need to up there game if they want to go up next season and I sure Mull and John will want that to happen this week it is Newark Town who have gone second so this could take us back to second if we win, I fancy a draw for this one.

NSL side my prediction was spot on last week but how unlucky was we to go out Awsworth scored in the last kick of the game to take it to extra time and then to go out after Awsworth scored in the last 5 minutes of extra time but that is cup football for you, this week they need to get it right as we could get in a relegation battle, they take on Gedling Southbank and desperately need a win but we may only get a draw.

3rds, New management James and Danny came so close in getting there 2nd win a row after leading 2-1 only to end up losing 4-2 but they have a good bunch of lads who will keep plugging away, this week it is Ashland and I fancy us to come away with point.

U19s, play in a friendly this Thursday at Radford it has been along time since they played but it will be good run out for the lads, we may surprise Radford and come home with a draw.

U16s, Moved upto 4th spot after a 3-1 victory and still have a chance of the runners up spot so they need another win this week, they take WB Rangers away and I think we can come back with all 3pts.

U15s, Back to winning ways with a 5-1 victory last week and this week they to carry it on as there is all to play for as they are only one win from being top, this week it is Pelican Colts and I sure that another 3pts will come our way, come on boys dig deep.

U14s, Still unbeaten in the league with another 3-0 win but a cup final awaits them this week with a trip to Kimberley this could be a tough game and may go to extra time but I fancy us to go through to yet another final, come on boys do the business.

U13s a real shock result last week going down to a team who are well below them but that is football, this week it is top of the league Clifton and I fear we could get the same treatment as last week, you have got to raise your game for this one but a defeat is my forecast.

U12s drew last week and this week could well be a defeat for our lads with a tough game away but we may surprise them and come away with a point.

U11s, came out 4-0 winners last week against local side Cheery tree which keeps them up there but a tough game awaits them this week as they go to Vernon who are top but we could go above them with a win and I will stick my neck on this and call a win for our boys.

U10s Sun. still 2nd in the league with an 8-1 victory last week and I fancy us to get the same score this week against Punjab at home.

U10s Sat, lost 3-1 to Muskham Cougars last week and with no game this week they can’t pick them selves up, But Mark and Co will draft them in with extra training.

U9s Sat, Cup action last week which saw them go out 3-1 but league action this week against league leaders Wollaton but a defeat is on the cards unless they can prove me wrong.

U9s Sun, Good win last week 3-0 which takes them to 5th can they do it this week against 4th spot Newark a win could see them upto 4th, I will play it safe and go for the draw.

U8s, At last our u8s I can predict them a result as for the last 5 games they are unbeaten and playing great football with a 4-0 win last week proves why, this week it is Attenboro and I fancy our boys to make it 6 in a row as we don’t give goals away lightly

U7s, no game this week

U13 girls, well it is semi-final day for Jo and her girls and they will want to win this one to get revenge and this game should be the same as the last one a close fought game, I know I will receive phone calls and e-mails on this but I fear we may not win this one but it will be a close game, come on girls prove me wrong yet again.

U10 girls, Drew last week 1-1 which keeps them 4th but no game this week.

Vets, Lost last week which surprised me I can see me having to get me boots on again but not this week as they are resting up.

Come on Calvo

CHOC’S PREDICTIONS 5th & 6th MARCH

Well it has been quite a while since my last predictions due to the weather it was the 19th Dec that I last did one, so I may be slightly off with them for this week but I will do my best.

1st team now under new management with Mike and Chris and are still finding there feet but this week it is there first home game in charge at home against Pinxton and I fancy our chances of getting 3 points and kick starting Mikes new venture and I am sure that he will get the boys to get that first win.

Res, after 6 weeks without a game have of late got to two good results and are sitting in 2nd place and would want to get some points this week so they will be in front of the chasing pack, this week it is off to Thoresby and with the good set of lads Mull and John have brought in we will get another 3pts no doubt about it.

NSL side have struggled of late but now they have players available and a semi-final in The Notts FA minor shield against fellow Div1 side Awsworth can they pull of a shock result and get us into the final, I wish them all the luck but I believe we may bow out after extra time, unless they can prove me wrong.

3rds, New management James and Danny have now got a settled side and last week came away with there first victory and they have assembled a good bunch of lads and with a bit of luck they can claw there way back up the league, they take on Trident this week and I can see no reason why they cant continue there climb, a win for me and no doubt a text of Danny telling me I was right.

U19s, another team under new management with Dean, Stu and Danny but after no game for over a month and no game until the end of March it does not make there job a building a young set of lads any easier.

U16s, Having a mix season but they are only one win away from a place in the Notts FA shield final does make sense that they are still a side to be reckoned with and next years u19s could be quite exciting, this week it East Leake who are one place above them and a win could take them upto 4th spot, so I fancy us getting that win..

U15s, Stuttered last week in the league against the league leaders going down 3-1 and they have to knuckle down for this weeks encounter of rivals Asworth a big game for Dave and the boys but I fear we may lose this one, sorry lads.

U14s, Still 2nd in the league and going strong and still unbeaten and with a home game against Burton Joyce I can see no reason why they will remain unbeaten, a win for the u14s.

U13s a good result last week coming out 4-1 winners against Lowdham which keeps them mid table and only 4pts of a runners up spot so they need a win this week to keep them in with a chance, a win for our boys.

U12s drew last week but John and Andy still plugging away with our lads who have moved upto mid-table after been bottom at the start of the season, this week it is Snienton who are 2nd of bottom and I can see our boys coming away with another 3pts.

U11s, Slipped up last week going down 4-3 in which a win would of seen them going top of the league, is the pressure getting to them who knows but I am sure this week they will want to put it right and who better than Mick and Carl to sort them out, this week it is local rivals Cherry Tree this week so I fancy us to get a win.

U10s Sun. 2nd in the league with games in hand and this week it is basement club Beeston so we should be able to keep the pressure on the league leaders, they are having a very good season and I can see another 3pts for our boys, well done Mark.

U10s Sat, close game last week saw them lose 1-0 to 3rd place Lowdham but this week they should come back from Muskham Cougars with all 3pts which should secure them a mid-table position so a win for me.

U9s Sat, Cup action this Saturday against a team who are just above them this should be an even game and I think we could go through with a close fought game.

U9s Sun, Good win last week 7-2 and need to beat the team who are just above them this week which could see them move upto 4th spot but I can see it been a well fought out draw..

U8s, no game this week

U7s, no game this week

U13 girls, played 12 won 12 and won the title tremendous achievement and narrowly going out of the Semi Final last week 1-0, but next week they take on the same team in the another Semi-Final so hopefully Jo will have them ready for that one and we all we wish them the very best.

U10 girls, still a outside chance of a runners up spot but they need to keep on winning, this week it is Ilkeston Town Angels and this could be good chance to close the gap for the Runners up spot but I fear a draw is all we may get unless our girls can prove me wrong.

Vets, they steadily moving up the league and a win this Sunday may even give them a chance of winning the league, it is a sort of local Derby and with the squad of players we have we should come out with a close game win against the league leaders.

Hope you all agree with this weeks predictions but then again some of you wont but prove me wrong.

Choc

Update 25 February 2010

Due to the departure of Tony Cox our current first team manager, we would like to announce that Michael Wain and Chris Wain will be taking on the role of Manager and assistant Manager and we wish them all the best with their new roles. We are sure they will be giving it there best shot and we are fully supportive of them.

Tony has moved to Hucknall Town and we wish him all the very best and thank him for what he has done at our club for taking on this role with very few players to start with but his has built up a decent set of lads who in time will turn things round and I am sure Mike and Chris will want to take this club in the same direction.

Update 16 December 2009

Children in Need

Calverton Miners Welfare Football School spent Saturday 21st November raising funds for Children in Need.

Everybody got into the spirit of fundraising by dressing up as everything from Robin Hood to a scary skeleton! The children all aged between 4 & 7 years got into their coaching session with Homer Simpson and Darth Vader who were taking up the role of guest coaches for the morning.

James Binks, Cameron Clarke, Jess and Toby Brown, Charlie Mcnamee, Marley Taylor, Wyatt Logan, Hamish Cragan, Sam Hewitt and Danny Marley raised money from spectators and sponsors and made £60, a fantastic total and a fantastic team effort.

Football School coaches Bryan Clarke, Mark Corcoran and Eddie Ward were delighted with the efforts of the children and parents and it went beyond their expectations to raise so much money.

If your son or daughter, is aged between 4 & 7 years of age and you would like to bring them down for great lessons in football and team skills, the class runs every Saturday from 10.00 - 11.15am at the Calverton Miners welfare Football School (Top Club).

If you are interested but would like to speak to us first the number is 079900 876332 or just come down on the morning with shinpads and a drink.

CHOC’S CHRISTMAS PREDICTIONS 19th & 20th DECEMBER

Well let’s hope our teams bring home a few Xmas cheers this weekend, Jo Swinscoe was awarded manager of the month for November, anyway down to this weeks fixture forecast.

1st team got 3 valuable points last week which see’s them mid-table but this week it is a tough game at Forest Town and they will do well to get a point so maybe we could fight for a point.

Res, not played for 2 weeks so they have dropped to 3rd place but this week they take on 4th place Pinxton so it is an important game, could turn out to be a hard game so i feel we can scrape a draw.

NSL side got a point last week with a goalless draw but this week it is second place Cotgrave they will have to pull out the stops to get something out of this one but you never know in football but a defeat for our NSL side.

3rds, under new caretaker management with DIY and Danny taking over and lets see what they can offer when they take on Kashmir who are just above them a draw for me.

U19s, Also under new management with Dean Wilson, Stu Moss and Danny Staley running the team and no better way that taking on Mickleover this Thursday night who beats us 9-1 last time but I can see us keeping that score down but I cannot see us getting anything from the game so a defeat for us. But come on you colts get up there and support them.

U16s, in the shield last week and with only 10 men cam away with a 5-1 victory this week it is a Wollaton side just below them and I can see 3pts heading there way.

U15s, Also in the Shield last week on the main pitch and ran 7-0 winners and into the next round, this week it is league leaders and this will test there desire to win the league and it should be a good game and I think we can just edge it with a win.

U14s, Another team to go through in the Shield with a 11-1 victory not bad to say they were 1-0 down when I was there but well done lads, this week they have no game.

U13s a bad result last week but they are only 5 points from the top so there is plenty of time left but they have no game this week.

U12s take on Beeston Black who are 2nd at the moment this is a real toughie and if we can get a point that is a job well done, but I fear a defeat for our youngones, come on lads prove me wrong.

U11s, without a game last week but still place 5th and no game this week what is happening with the fixtures I can see a lot of our teams playing there matches in June the way it is going.

U10s Sun. Still top of the league and you have guessed no game this week.

U10s Sat, mid table but are a good few point of the leaders but only half way there but no game this week.

U9s Sat, lost last week 1-0 and they are still mid-table but they have no game this week.

U9s Sun, this team also has no game.

U8s, no game this week

U7s, no game this week

U13 girls, played 7 won 7 and in the Semi’s and Quarter finals of 2 cups who can stop them and Jo receiving Manager of the Month award maybe it will keep her of the phone now, play Arnold in a friendly this week maybe a draw this week. But well done to all concerned with the team.

U10 girls, watched them last week for the first time and I must have put a spell on them as they lost at home but the girls love it and never gave up so well done girls, this week it is Toton and I fancy us to get 3pts.

Vets, no game this week resting now until after Xmas bit like Santa he needs his rest as well you know.

And a Merry xmas to you all

Choc

Update 3 December 2009

CHOC’S PREDICTIONS 5th & 6th DECEMBER

Well a few teams let me down last week but some teams also surprised me, I had 6 right and 7 wrong and 6 with no game. Anyway I will try and do better I hope you do to.

1st team, Play Westella who are mid-table and if we play like we did last week I cant see us getting anything out of the game but I am sure they will and maybe bring home a point.

Res, moved upto second place after a 2-1 victory but if they are to stay there they must put teams to bed early on, tricky game this week and if we are not on our game we may only come home with a point.

NSL side, had a very good result last week and need to carry on with that sort of form, but it is cup action against a div one side and this will be a good test, it may go to extra time but I think we could go out after it.

3rds, at last they got there first win of the season and by all accounts played very well but they need to carry it on to this week where they take on Broadway grange in the cup, I think we can progress into the next round.

U19s, No game again this week due to Arnold Town calling it off, not bad to say we have no rain for 2 days prior to the game.

U16s, in the shield this week and I think Dean and his boys will be to strong and should easily go into the next round.

U15s, Also in the Shield and like our u16s we should and will be through to the next round, plus we are the holders and would not want to go out.

U14s, Shield cup match and another win which should take us to a quarter final place, in the hat no doubt about it.

U13s League action for our boys and it is a local one against Arnold Town on form we should gain three points but you never know in football but I will stick my neck out and go for the win.

U12s Had a great win last week and I am sure John and Andy are thrilled the way they have picked the side up, moved upto mid-table but a tough game this week against 4th place side, close game but probably a defeat for us.

U11s, without a game last week but still place 4th with games in hand and this week it is 4th plays 1st and should be worth watching, a point for Mick and Carl unless they can pull it off.

U10s Sun. Still top of the league and great result last week and they need to keep it going and they should do this week, 3pts for our boys and still top of the league.

U10s Sat, Could be a make or break game for the boys where a win would take us closer to the team we are playing and with games in hand could take them closer to the top four, why not I predict a win.

U9s Sat, take on Dunkirk who are below them but we need them 3pts to keep us mid-table but a defeat could see them drop into the bottom four, so a win for me.

U9s Sun, take on league leaders and a defeat would do us no good at all but I fear for our young lads and a defeat may well be on the cards.

U8s, not sure of the result last week but this week it is Hucknall Warriors will they be Warriors when our young Colts are finished with them, either way I fancy us getting a win so come on lads do it.

U7s, John Let me have your game or a pre fixture list for next week.

U13 girls, played 6 won 6 not a bad start to the season well done girls but this week it is tough one in the cup and you will find that teams you are playing will want to stop your winning ways, so be prepared for extra time and maybe a early exit.

U10 girls, they have good start to the season and have had two tough games on the bounce but this week it is another tough game this time in the cup and they take on a Div 1 side, sorry you may go out.

Vets, 3 games in 3 weeks is a lot to ask from our old boys but they managed a draw last week and this week they can relax with there deep heat and Cocoa and watch the telly.

Don’t forget the Manager of the month award at the next Colts meeting which will be Mid December and it will include Oct, Nov and the 2 weeks in Dec results and there is some Managers who are peaking at the right time making it a hard decision for myself and John Daniel, but all good stuff.

Cheers and good luck

Update 25 November 2009

CHOC’S PREDICTIONS 28th & 29th NOVEMBER

Did well last week with 8 right and only 5 wrong, my predictions for this week

1st team, Play Kimberley Town which could be off but if we play I fancy another 3pts as we have a settled side now.

Res, Went out of the cup mid-week but league action this week and are home to Thoresby and 3pts in the bag.

NSL side, oh dear last week was a bad one and we will move swiftly on, this week probably a tougher game in Boots, sorry lads no points for you.

3rds, no game last week, this week it is East Valley away, we need the points but sorry lads can’t see it been this week.

U19s, Take on local rivals Arnold Town and who knows they may throw in a few 1st teamers like they did last Saturday, but it has a draw written all over it.

U16s, West Bridgford away this week and a comfortable 3pts also had a great win last week in the cup.

U15s, play top of the league this week and they need a win to keep there hopes up, but I will play it safe and go with a draw.

U14s, Mick’s boys take on Dunkirk and this is a tough game to call but we are in good form at the moment and I think we will just edge it with a narrow win.

U13s, Had a bad run for the last couple of weeks and this week they have a chance to get back on track, a win for our boys in the local derby.

U12s, take on a side that are just above them and a win could see us jump a few places, Andy and John are having a good run at the moment but signs are they may have turned this team round, so another win for our lads.

U11s, Went out of the cup last week to a div 1 side but the boys have rest this week with no game.

U10s Sun, They need to win this week to stay top if not the team they play could leap frog them but I am sure Mark has them in shape and I fancy us to get 3pts.

U10s Sat, Take on Muskham juniors and I can safely say that they will bag the 3pts in what they require to keep in the top half of the league.

U9s Sat, had a good win the cup last week 3-1 but league action this week but a draw is on the cards for this one and will keep them mid-table.

U9s Sun, Had a good win last week and need to keep it going or they could slip into the bottom three, tough game on Sunday but I can only see a point in it for you.

U8s, First time I have predicted our u8s, so they play Gedling Southbank who like us produce good players and i would love us to bring home 3pts but not this week lads only a point but a close game, prove me wrong if you like.

U7s, Let me have your game for next week.

U13 girls, another win last week in the cup which puts them in the semi’s, this week it is Rainworth MW in the league, 3pts should come our way so at last I predict you a win, our girls have got off to a flyer unbeaten upto yet, maybe me predicting them a win may change that but no girls get that win.

U10 girls, defeated last week in the cup and they play the same team this week. I can see the same result and a defeat for you young ladies, but another side that are having a good season, but please prove me wrong I would love to hear from you if you do..

Vets, went out of the cup to the police 3-0 but not bad to say they were in the final last year, but this week need to keep going but with three games in as many weeks could the old legs be starting to ache and give a little who knows, this week if they don’t win they go bottom so come on lads plenty of deep heat and bag three precious points, a win for me.

If I have missed you off please let me know your fixtures for next week, these are my predictions please let me know via e-mail only if I get it wrong.

Don’t forget we are looking for the Bells Manager / Manager’s of the Month for Oct & Nov and there are a few candidates up for it.

Cheers and good luck

U7s, Let me have your game for next week.

U13 girls, cup action and a tough one girls but you know me by now your first defeat of this year but played 5 won 5 great start girls keep it up.

U10 girls, another cup game in the county shield and this is also a tough one maybe a draw at Full time but may go out in extra time.

Vets, in cup action against the Police if we don’t beat them we need locking up, a win for us after a weeks rest.

CHOC’S PREDICTIONS 24TH & 25TH OCT

Well not many teams playing this week due to the bank holiday and on Saturday I away for a week so they wont be any for next weekend, but 8 right, 7 wrong and 1 with no game.

Well this Saturday is the Mini tournament and I wish Richard and Marc good luck and hope it all goes well and hope all teams support it if they can.

1st team, we had to scrap for this one but finally came through with a 3-1 victory this week it is Grantham Rangers and a win we really could do with, if we play the football there is no reason why we cant get 3 pts so a win for the boys I hope.

Res, last week saw us drop more valuable points against Pinxton but we have had to call there game off this Saturday as the league double booked us, but they have a mid-week game next Tuesday against League leaders Dronfield, with a few new players in we can give them a better game than the last time they met. Maybe a draw?

NSL side, are having real dip in form losing last week to Keyworth 2-0 and must be worrying times for new manager but he can pick them up and get back to winning ways this weekend against Cotgrave who have started well, a draw for me.

3rds, Went down 3-2 but the lads gave there all, this week it is Coopers Arms come on lads you need that win no better chance than this week, oh yes that win is in the air.

U19s, Played on Tuesday against Long Eaton a long way to go for our youngsters I hope it is worth it, but a defeat is on the cards.

U16s, East Leake Bantams refused to play our boys last weekend as they didn’t have a full squad, seems a bit pathetic but that is how some teams operate, Attenborough who are unbeaten is this weeks opponents and I am sure Dean will want to get back into winning ways, but maybe a draw.

U15s, who had a cup game at home to Netherfield and ended up winning 6-1 and into the next round, this week it is the same team but in the league, 3pts a cert.

U14s, played Burton Joyce on Sunday ended up 6-0 victors, this week no game but they are still top.

U13s, well would you believe it they are still top of the league with a win last Sunday 4-0 against Quarrydale but no game this week

U12s, What a game for our boys going down 4-3 but they did well, this week no game.

U11s, local derby with the Cherry tree last week and Mick and Carl must have had the lads on a win bonus coming away with a 6-0 victory and moving them upto fourth spot, keep it going lads. No game this week and I predicted it wrong last week.

U10s Sun, still top but last week it was cup action against Ruddington and eased through with an 8-1 victory a big well done you guys, this week it is Cotgrave Clarets and I cant see them moving us from top spot so a win and still top for our u10s.

U10s Sat, Ended up with a 2-2 draw against Lowdham Black, but no game this week.

U9s Sat, I predicted this one right but the boys will get themselves together and maybe win this weeks mini-tournament, but no game in league football.

U9s Sun, No game last week and no game this week but they are ina mini-tournament on Sat, good luck boys.

U8s, if they can let me have some fixtures I will give it a go.

U7s, if they can let me have some fixtures I will give it a go.

U13 girls, Well the girls rolled into the next round of the cup with a 7-2 thrashing of Keyworth, this is one prediction I got wrong but just. This week there is no game so can’t get that wrong. Well done girls for a great start and for doing the ball boys for the senior side last week.

U10 girls, These girls only went down by 1-0 to league leaders Bingham and they did themselves proud well done to all concerned. No game this week.

Vets, well don’t know what’s happened to our old boys but they are not firing at the moment going down 4-1 last week, have a rest and come back in two weeks.

If I have missed you out let me know, these are my predictions please let me know via e-mail only if I got it wrong.

Cheers and good luck

Choc's Predictions.....

CHOC’S PREDICTIONS 17TH & 18TH OCT

Well not a bad start to my predictions, 6 right, 7 wrong and 3 with no game. Well this weeks might impress you here we go.

1st team, I got this one right with a draw but this week it is cup action at home against Bulwell and it should not be a problem for us to go through to next round, so a win for Tony’s boys.

Res, last week saw us drop valuable points against basement club Nettleham coming home with a 2-2 draw, this week it is pinxton who are 3rd from bottom so it should be a win but you never know I have slight doubt but a draw maybe on the cards.

NSL side, are having real dip in form losing last week to Gedling 4-0 this week it is off to Keyworth and to be honest I can’t see us coming home with a point, so sorry lads it is another defeat for you unless you can prove me wrong..

3rds, Loads of drama this week with this team which hopefully should kick start there season but they take on the Headstocks on Sat who are just above them, I fancy us to get a win.

U19s, Danny and Darren finally got a win for our youngsters with a marvellous 4-1 win over Harworth, but they need to carry it on this week as they travel to Mickleover a win will take us above them, but a point is all we will get.

U16s, Well my prediction was spot on last week but I will still say that we will be there come next April, this week it is cup action with another toughie in East Leake bantams this is a tough call but I fear we will bow out of the cup, sorry lads please prove me wrong.

U15s, have a cup game at home to Netherfield who are just above them in the league but that will not worry Dave and his lads, through to next round for me.

U14s, back in action against Burton Joyce on Sunday and still top of the league and another win for u14s without a doubt.

U13s, well would you believe it we have gone top of the league with a win last Sunday well done management and the boys, this week it is Quarrydale and I see no reason why we cant be still at the top, a win for Calvo.

U12s, got a valuable point last week and this week it is basement club who they play if we don’t win this one we may go bottom, so as a incentive I fear you will lose this one and go bottom now there is a challenge.

U11s, another win last week saw us move upto mid-table but this week it is a local derby with the Cherry tree our opponents, it should be a close game with the points being shared.

U10s Sun, we are still top with a 4-2 victory last week but cup action this week against Ruddington and this should also be close but I fancy us to go through.

U10s Sat, played top of the league last week and lost 4-0 but onwards and upwards I say, this week it is Lowdham Black, bring it on and bring home the 3pts.

U9s Sat, with a great win last week 1-0 moved them to a mid-table spot but this week it is Ilkeston Flyers who are laying second all I will say give it your best shot and enjoy, but no points this week.

U8s, if they can let me have some fixtures I will give it a go.

U7s, if they can let me have some fixtures I will give it a go.

U13 girls, well what more can I say every time I predict them they prove me wrong, last week they travelled in style with Calverton Connections taking them, supporting them and then bringing them home how good is that and we won and we stay top of the league, but it is cup action for the girls on Sunday with the CC taking them again, has the start gone to there heads and can they go through to next round, we could bow out. sorry girls.

U10 girls, well these girls are doing us proud also with a tremendous win again last week 3-0 but this week is a tough game against league leaders Bingham who are unbeaten and I fear they will stay unbeaten, a defeat our girls sorry girls. you must prove me wrong.

Vets, Not has the best of starts but they have had some good teams to play, this week it is cup action against a team who is in a lower league and I see our dads army going through by the odd goal.

If I have missed you out let me know, these are my predictions please let me know via e-mail only if I got it wrong.

Cheers and good luck

Update 7 October 2009

CHOC’S PREDICTIONS 10TH & 11TH OCT

Every season I do my best and predict the Colts score for the weekend and this can have a effect on results as I know that certain will raise there game if I predict them a defeat so it is all good fun. Well here we go!!

1st team, they have had a mixed start to the season winning a few and losing a few but Tony Cox has come in and done a fabulous job in re-building a team from scratch there is still a way to go but we are getting there and we fully support Tony, anyway this week they travel to my former club of 7 years in Southwell City and I hope that we can put one over them by coming away with a victory but I think it may turn out to be 1-1 draw.

Res, Tony and John are doing a good job with the Reserves not bad to say that the former 1st management wanted us to get rid of them this year but that is football and they have brought in some good players and lads from the village and are placed 3rd with one defeat in 6, this week it is off to Nettleham who last week they beat 9-2 with super striker Gary Clarkson bagging 4 goals his 4th Hatrick this season, and there is no reason why they cannot bring home another 3pts and possibly go top, a win but not as big as last week’s.

NSL side, under new management this year and got off to a flyer but the last 2 games have seen a dip in form and Tony and his crew needs to get that back into shape and get them in to winning ways, this week it is Gedling Southbank and I am sure with new signings immanent they can get back on track with a win, 4-1 to Calvo.

3rds, Darren has had a half decent start but after talking to him I am sure he can get a settled side and start winning a few more games after all it is only Oct and a long way to go so come on Darren stick with it and get them boys playing, anyway this week it is Kashmir away and win would start moving them up that table but a draw is on the card’s for me.

U19s, Mick and John had to step down due to work commitments but we have set on Danny and Darren for the time being and hopefully they can do the business for the club and they have a good squad of players, this week they are at home against Harworth and I think we could get something out of this game, so our first win this year.

U16s, Dean has got the lads rolling again but this week it is there biggest rivals Parkdale who are unbeaten and top of the league, we usually do well against this team but I think it is to early to say that we will beat them, so a defeat for us but we will be there at the end.

U15s,David has also got off to a decent start but with players being picked up by professional clubs he still is trying to rebuild and is currently mid-table, they has a good win in the shield last week but no game this week.

U14s, as usual Mick and his boys are firm favorites to win another league title but early days yet but they have got off to a good start, but no game this week.

U13s, another team who have a good start but this week it is a 4th plays 5th against Lowdham Colts now this could be a tricky game and normally I would play it safe and go with a draw but not this week I go for a 2-1 victory.

U12s, who are under new management with Andy Melaugh coming out of a 3 month retirement to give these lads a game of football, I thank Mick Cole for his time and effort and also John Cusick for helping keep the team going, this week it is Sherwood at home and I would think that the lads who are back to full strength will bring home all 3pts with there first victory of the season.

U11s, Mick and Carl’s lads have started decent this season and it is there first season at 11 a’side so well done boys, this week it is Sherwood who are bottom but that means nothing so early on the season, but a draw is my forecast unless the lads want to prove me wrong.

U10s, Well it is 1st plays 2nd on Sunday and will we still be in top spot who knows only the lads know that and I will support them by saying a win for Mark and his lads.

U9s, Saturday side take on Riverside a side that are just above them, but a shaky start so far but I am sure they will turn things round but not this week, I will go for a draw.

U8s, Not quite sure who they have this week but will find out for next week.

U7s, same as above Not quite sure who they have this week but will find out for next week

U13 girls, Take on Ilkeston Town ladies and what a start they have had this season played 2 won 2 and top of the league, but I think this week will see them remain unbeaten with a 2-2 draw.

U10 girls, Pete and Deans girls got there first win last week and this week it is off to Ashfordby away, they are below our girls and will remain below them as I fancy the girls to get there second win of the year.

Vets, who have not a game this week played last week and earned a valuable draw with Burton Joyce 2-2.

If I have missed you out let me know, these are my predictions please let me know via e-mail only if I got it wrong.

Cheers and good luck

There have been some changes within the club for this season so over the next few weeks I'll be re-photographing some of the key people.
