Summer Football Tournament 2010

8, 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13 Boys – Under 10 &13 Girls
We are now arranging the Calverton Colts Summer 2010
Football Tournament and would like to take this opportunity to invite your team
to take part. This will be held on the weekend of the 15th and 16th
May at the Calverton Miners’ Welfare Sports Ground.
As in previous years our aim is to provide
football for the youngsters and to make it an enjoyable day for their parents,
brothers, sisters and supporters with a variety of stalls, bar-b-cue, other
activities and of course the amenities of the Miners’ Welfare.
We are hoping to operate with around 18 to 20 teams
in each of the age groups (although we anticipate slightly smaller numbers than
this from girls sections) and as such are operating a strict first come, first served policy with payment securing your
place.
The competition is open to teams who are currently Under 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
boys and Under 10 and 13 girls i.e. as a
continuation of the 2009-2010 season and will be run as follows:
SATURDAY
15th MAY – Under 11 & 12 boys in the morning,
Under 13 boys and the Under 10 & 13 girls in the afternoon
SUNDAY
16h MAY – Under 7 & 8 boys in the morning, Under
9 & 10 boys in the afternoon.
The format will be mini-soccer for current
mini-soccer teams and 6-a-side for current 11-a-side teams. Each game will last
10 minutes. Fuller rules will be supplied nearer the time.
In selecting these groupings we are trying to work
around the YEL 11-a-side cup finals which are scheduled for Sunday 16th
May. In addition we are aware that the Saturday is FA Cup Final day but the big
