 Thank you for expressing an interest in our Society.

The Society Aims and Objectives are: -

To preserve the coal mining heritage of the Cannock Chase Coalfield.

To encourage the collection of coal mining artefacts, documents and photographs. 

To carry out research into all deep coal mining sites and companies in the Cannock  Chase Coalfield.

To bring together people with an interest in coalmining whether it is in this area or elsewhere.

 There are two classes of Membership  available in the CCMHS : -

    1). Full adult member @ £5.00 per year.     2).  Junior membership under 18years (FREE)

        Membership will run from 1st January to the 31 December inclusive

Membership Rules of the Cannock Chase Mining Historical Society

1. As a member of the CCMHS you are expected to promote and forward the aims of the CCMHS at all times.

2. Annual General Meetings will be held in February each year

3. The founding Committee members will stand in office until the BOOK is published after which time the officers of the Committee will be elected from the membership

4.  Each fully paid up ADULT member will have one vote at the Annual General Meeting.

5. The CCMHS headquarters will be at the Museum of Cannock Chase as long as this is permitted.

6. ANY MISCONDUCT liable to bring the CCMHS into disrepute or ANY MISUSE of CCMHS funds or property by an officer(s) or member(s) will result in expulsion from the CCMHS.

7. Membership will run from 1st January to 31st December each year. Full membership will be £5.00(GBP)  per annum: Junior membership will be free to persons under the age of 18 years.

8. Membership fees will be collected at the start of each year. Any person joining mid year will be       charged a reduced rate of membership. Any badge, tie or activities i:e excursions offered by the CCMHS will be at extra cost.

9. Any monies paid to the CCMHS for any part of RULE 8 are non refundable (unless the excursion  or event is cancelled).

10. On leaving the CCMHS no refund of membership will be made.

11. Donations of any item, document, artefact or photograph to the CCMHS must be covered by the  CCMHS Standard Release Form* and comprehensively documented.

12. CCMHS property can only be loaned to a third party by permission of the Officers of the Committee.  A Standard Release Form must be completed by the Committee.

* The Standard Release Form can be obtained from any Officer of the Committee
