| Queensferry lies on the south shores of the Firth of Forth about 10 miles NW of Edinburgh. It is situated at the ideal river crossing point, being the narrowest part of the Firth for many miles. By car it is just off the A90. The nearest rail station is Dalmeny about 10 minutes walk from Queenferry burgh centre. The airport is about 3 miles to the south of the burgh (the bureaucrats chose to name it Edinburgh!), a taxi will take 10 minutes and cost about £10. There are footpaths and cycle routes if you want to avoid the traffic. You could of course arrive by sea as many thousands of people have done since time immemorial. |
