A private club of individuals devoted to sporting cycling. We've been on the roads since 1920 so we have a fine tradition for cycling in the area. Click here (once I've got around to it) for a bit more of the Club's history.
At the moment, our devotion extends to sociable leisure riding and racing. Throughout the year, we run weekend club rides on Sundays whilst the keener members participate in summer road racing and time trialling events. We cater for all ages, having recently boasted Manchester District Junior Time Trial Champion (2004) through to our gristly Veterans section. We have held the odd excursion to ride at the Velodrome. At present, whilst several members occasionally use their mountain bikes, we do not have formal Mountain Bike or BMX groups, but 'yet' is the active word. Join us with your friends, and start one with us.
Our name gives a big clue - we're based in the Stretford area, but our members come from far and wide. Whilst we do have local members from the Urmston, Flixton and Sale districts within Trafford Borough and neighbouring Chorlton, our sphere of influence extends outwards to Partington, around through Boothstown, Worsley, Whitefield and round to Bury. Then there's a jump where other cycling clubs have met demand, to Macclesfield, where we have a small, but influential, following. Further afield, our membership extends into Yorkshire, of all places, with one die-hard family now based in Harrogate.
