At the moment, our devotion extends to sociable leisure riding and a bit of racing. Throughout the year, we run weekend club rides on Sundays whilst the keener members participate in summer competitive time trialling events. In keeping with the ethics of promoting the sport, we hold "Open" competitive events where we organise the event for other participants. At present, our calandar of events is normally 3 open Time Trials (though 2007 is a bit different because of our commitment to a National event) and we hold our club-members Hill Climb. See our Time Trials pages for further details...
We cater for all ages, having recently boasted Manchester District Junior Time Trial Champion (2004) through to our gristly Veterans section.
Our Road Racers have slipped out of action for the time being, with family commitments, but for many years up until 2006, the club co-promoted the Manchester 2-Day Road Race event in Spring, along with Manchester Wheelers CC. Then there is the Velodrome - we occassionally hire this fabulous facility for a couple of evening hours to have a thrash around the boards. Several of our senior members are track regulars, at the afternoon veterans sessions and some of the structured squad sessions.
At present, whilst several members occasionally use their mountain bikes, we do not have formal Mountain Bike or BMX groups, but 'yet' is the active word. (We did have one in the early 90s, but the "alternative club colours" scheme put them and eveyone else off). Join us with your friends, and kickstart the original team (but without the pink and yellow, please).
