Open Time Trials 2010

The club currently promotes open Time Trials on behalf of and under the Regulations of Cycling Time Trials. These are local events on Cheshire courses, in the area bound in the general Knutsford - Holmes Chapel - Chelford triangle.

Club Time Trials

Until 2004, we held a summer series of Evening 10.5 mile Time Trials around a circuit based at Dunham Crematorium.

3 laps of corn-flies, potholes and horse-poo! Wonderful! Alas, legislation and dwindling rider numbers means that, because of the many T junctions that the anti-clockwise circuit uses, we would need more marshals than we could muster - more marshals than riders! The good old days, when we had one time-keeper and a pusher-offer, have long since passed.

There are still club events run by other local clubs on J2/1 and elsewhere west of Knutsford, which would welcome riders, so the loss of our own club "10.5" is not so tragic. And, the Dunham Circuit is still a fine training circuit for would-be criterium stars and roadies.

Open to Solo Bicycle - M / W / Juv / Jun / Vets & Tandems/trikes/tandem-trikes.
This is an out-and-back, rolling Cheshire course along the A537, with 2 passings over the infamous Chelford Island, turning on the Booths Hall roundabout, just East of Knutsford.
This event is not a counter for the M&DTTA Cheshire Courses TT points series.

This is a rolling Cheshire circuit course, a lap and a half of J2/9, from Bomish Lane (Jodrell Bank) to Chelford, Ollerton, A50 to Allostock, Cranage, Twemlow Green and up to complete the lap by Jodrell Bank, finishing on the A50 just past the Mangoletsi Garage.
The 2005 event was won by Stuart Dangerfield, with course (and then District) record of 51:??
The event is dedicated to the memory of William Murphy, a former Club President. The fastest overall rider is awarded a magnificent trophy, to hold for one year.

This event has previously been a counter for the M&DTTA Cheshire Courses TT points series.

Prior to 2007 (the year we promoted the BCTT Championship Event.) we ran a late season 10m event.
The format for this was to create and "end of TT season" sociable afternoon, incorporating Mixed 2-Up, Tandems and Solos events.
If you are fit enough, you could even enter as a 2-Up or tandem Team and ride as 2 x solos as well ! It has been done.
Whether we resurrect this season closer, or continue to let it pass remains in the lap of our Committee.
