Headquarters are Siddington Village Hall, located off the A34 approx. 2 miles south of Monks Heath cross-roads.

Parking

There is sufficient parking at the HQ for competitors. If you do insist on moving nearer to the start, do not park on the A537 or any other parts near the course. There is a lay-by in the lane off on the right, before the start line. It only has limited space.

Distance to start

The start is approx 2 miles from the event HQ. Proceed North up the A34 to the traffic lights. The start is 1/4 mile along the A537 to the left. There is a small triangular circuit suitable for last-minute warm-ups if you carry on (north) up the A34 then turn first left into a lane, jusy opposite the Matthews Garden Centre entrance (approx 400 yds after the lights).

Allow about 10 minutes brisk ride from the HQ to the start line.

Rear Lights

Please be aware, if we have a full field and it is a cloudy or overcast evening or if weather conditions are otherwise adverse, then late competitiors are strongly recommended to use a rear tail light. The course is tree-lined in places and advance warning to other road users is to be recommended, to improve your own safety.

NOTE It is the competitor's decision to assess such risks and to act on this advice.

Chelford Island

The course crosses the infamous roundabout twice. Riders are reminded that Local Regulations are in force here - you must not approach or ride around the roundabout on tri-bars - you must be seen to be in full control and be able to stop for traffic.
Historically, this roundabout attracts a lot of traffic problems (having 5 arms) and the confusion arising from racing cyclists just makes it worse. Official Observers are usually in attendance during events, so any riders not giving way or stopping where required will be spotted, noted, reported and disciplinary action may arise from the District Committee - you have been warned!
For the sake of your fellow time-trialling cyclists, please don't flout these rules because many Cheshire events depend on the continued use of Chelford.

Toilets

Provided at the HQ, Ladies and Gents. Regrettably, there are no shower facilities. Communal changing is available inside the Main Hall.

Refreshments

Tea, coffee, sandwiches and cakes will be availble at the HQ, a complimentary drink for competitors. All donations towards the catering will be greatly appreciated.
