| It was the Manse for St John's Wesleyan Methodist Church in Sauchiehall Street (ie. the Moody family church).
So it was the residence of the minister of this church, who would conduct the wedding ceremonies. Weddings were held at the Manse quite often and on a sunny day probably spilled out into Holyrood Gardens at the centre of the crescent. St John's Wesleyan Methodist Church was demolished around the late 1960s and at some time subsequently the Manse was sold off. |
