CareShare
CareShare is a local charity
operating in the Cotswold District to provide flexible, home-based respite care to Carers
of people with a physical disability or dementia.
The Manager, Care Manager and Administrator are
all based in Cirencester at our office in The Mews. The office is
accessible to wheelchairs.
CareShare has a team of Carer Support Workers who go into the homes of
someone with a physical disability or dementia - regardless of their age - to support them
and care for them, enabling the family to have a regular short break from the responsibilities of the
caring role. The Carer Support Worker follows the usual family routine, performing those
tasks normally carried out by the family. The family's needs are first assessed by the
Care Manager who then organises the practical help necessary for the family to have a
break and who regularly reviews the service to make any necessary changes.
We offer a consistency of Carer Support Worker and the family can expect
to see the same person at every visit.
The needs of the families for whom we provide a service are very
different. The homes they live in are varied, both in the standard of maintenance and the
provision of equipment. The level of care we provide is of a consistently high standard.
Our client group is particularly susceptible to risk and all possible
precautions are taken to ensure their welfare while they are in our care. Our staff are
trained and constantly reminded that they work with a vulnerable group. They must also
take care to safeguard their own health and safety.
We never forget that we are working in people's homes and we must
respect their choices. The environment is assessed sensitively. Every effort is taken to
ensure that any risk is minimised and that a safe working environment is maintained.
