Chateau
Bû This structure dominates the area and can be seen from all the later sites. It is also very impressive but it is unfortunate that it has been caged in making even photographs difficult. The stones are on a raised mound with a hollow center. It looks as though it has been very restored as many smaller stones have been placed around the site both along the passage leading to the chamber and in arcs on the mound.
Three of the large quartz stones stand and the fourth lays fallen on the side of the mound. The tallest reaches 3.2m (10.5ft) and is to the NE and smaller thin slabs about 1m (3ft) high lead from it to the NW pillar. Similar smaller stones have been placed around the east and west sides of the rectangle. The rectangle is like a Four Poster, common in Scotland, and measures 7x6m (23x20ft)
