Hameau
de Rungelo Take the exit for Daoulas from the major road the N165 and head south on the D770. Drive to Hopital-Camtrout and when you enter the town limits take the right turn signed Logonna-Daoulas. (Don’t take the first sign for this town that you come to as it is the wrong road) Drive for about 1.5km and after the road splits and rejoins watch for a sign to the stone ahead on the left. This points you down a track on the right and after 100m you come to the stone. |

This menhir is 2.2m high (almost 8ft) but the interesting thing about it is that it has been carved on the northern face with an image of Christ and the 12 apostles. On the top is a now crooked cross. The carvings are old and some think they are from anytime from the Romans to the 15th century.

Île
Carn From Ploudalmézeau head west on the D168 and after a few km take a right turn signed to Portsall. We followed a sign for a free campervan site and this led to the beach in front of the small island where these tombs are located.
View of Île Carn from the beach There
are three passage graves on this little island but we couldn’t get
there as the tide didn’t go down far enough to wade over at the time
of year we were there. (It was almost a full moon) |
