Les
Demoiselles As you drive into Langon look for the playing fields and a sign on the left indicating the site. Take this left turn and go to the end of the road where you turn left again and you will see the stones.

| At
first glance the stones appear to be a jumble but as you walk towards
the trees you can see some rows. These are large white quartz boulders
forming six roughly parallel rows on a SE-NW alignment.
Many are about 1.5 to 2m in height (5-6ft) but most average around 1m (3ft). There are about 20 stones remaining. About 30m (100ft) to the NW seven stones form a vague oval about 10x6m (33x20ft). |

This circle is partially destroyed
either by the action of tree roots or humans. The name derives from the
one common in the UK of girls being turned to stone for dancing on the
Sabbath. |
