Menec
(East) A short drive west brings you to the next huge group of rows. There are spaces to park on the verge on the left and there is a large carpark at the far west of the rows. You have to be careful looking at the stones here as there is little in the way of pavement and the cars fly past. We passed an old French couple cursing the fence here.
View towards the eastern cromlech The east cromlech is very damaged and the fence prevents you getting close to it. 25 close set stones survive along the western arc where the rows converge but as there are so many stones, from a distance this is hard to discern. It is an “egg” shape form that mirrors that of the cromlech at the western end of the rows. The east and west rows are divided by a road where you can get more reasonable views of the alignments.
