Parc-ar-Varret Porspoder is on the west coast of Finistère – the “Coast of Legends”. The small coast road, the D27, is a pleasant drive as the scenery is wonderful. Just beyond the village of Porspoder is a turning on the left for the Saint Laurent peninsula. After 500m is a carpark. We walked right round the peninsula which was extremely pleasant and the only standing stones we found were to the southern edge as shown below.
Burl mentions a rectangular enclosure and a few standing stones to the NE so I think this must be it except it is the SW. Beside a small standing stone 1.2m (4ft) near some old seaweed burning houses are a few low stones in the brambles in the vague shape of a corner of a rectangle. Towards the cliff about 30m away are two larger stones reaching around 2m and 2.4m (6 and 8ft) and by them is a larger fallen stone about 3m (10ft) long. The seaweed houses were used to extract iodine in the old days.
