Easter 2002

We managed to visit most of the main sites in Cornwall over a two week period at Easter 2002. After a foggy and wet start the weather improved which helped as most of the sites are set in beautiful scenery. The two main areas are the granite outcrops of Bodmin moor and the Land’s End area of West Penrith.

The only sites we couldn’t get to were these. The Goodaver circle where we found the reference in Burl to “an overgrown footpath” to be a “Private No entry” sign at Goodaver Farm. Looking back at the maps I think we should have tried the other farm nearby as it seems to be on private land, if anyone knows a route could you please email me. Also the main circle at Leaze seems to also be on private land, we found the ruined circles but couldn’t get to the other one.

At Bodmin Moor we camped at Colliford Lake Tavern that is an ideal location to visit all the sites from and around Land’s End there are a couple of very pleasant campsites that we recommend on the following pages.
