County Mayo
Cong
There is a group of four circles here but only one is accessible and you
can just see two of the others but loose stone walls and barbed wire
prevent you reaching them. As you approach Cong from the direction from
cross you come to a castle entrance. Turn right here and go on for about a
mile where the circle is signed. There isn’t actually anywhere to park on
this road.

The circle was erected on a low
mound and is about 16 metres diameter and inside it are the remains of a
cairn. Eighteen stones remain and average around 1 metre in height. One is
a rectangular weathered stone to the SE with deep hollows common to much
of the eroded limestone in the area.
