Loch Buie Stone Circle NM 618 252 Take the A849 south from Craignure for about 6 miles then turn left onto the minor road signed to Loch Buie. After 6 miles park at the small road bridge where a sign directs you along a route to the stones, about 500m away. The circle is not visible from the road but the NW outlier can be seen. On the way to the circle you will pass a small kerb cairn in a small ring of trees to the left of the path. You will next see a standing stone as you approach a fence, then a tall slender outlier and finally as you go throught the gate the circle comes into sight previously hidden by the invading rhododendron bushes.
It is in a lovely setting with a backdrop of mountains, the highest being Ben Buie. The circle is in excellent condition, it is a perfect circle measuring 13.3m (almost 44ft). The stones are all about 1.5m (5ft) tall, the tallest is 1.9m (6.25ft) to the WSW. The smaller northern stone is a modern replacement of a missing stone. In all there are nine stones.

The circle has several outlying stones, nearby is a small stone to the SE and to the SW are two taller stones. The nearest to the circle is an attractive slender pillar reaching 2.8m (9.3ft) and further back near the fence is another reaching 1.5m (5ft). The NW outlier visible from the car parking space is a wide slab about 2m (6.5ft) some 350m from the circle.

| The
kerb cairn is surrounded by trees, the roots have disturbed some of the
stones. The ring is about 7m (23ft) across and the SE has portal stones
that, according to Burl, is a false entrance.
