The Isle of Skye is a spectacular island and well named as it gets its name from the Norse word for cloud – “skuy” and is commonly known as the Misty Isle. It certainly lived up to this and rain seems quite common. We crossed to Skye by the bridge at Kyle of Lochalsh (£5.70 toll) and followed the A87 to Broadford.
