Triagh na Beirghe “Beach of the Fort”
Cairn
Uig

On the hills above the west end of this beautiful beach are several ancient sites, it is named after a hillfort. There is a fairly ruined Bronze Age cairn in front of a Viking burial site where skeletons have been excavated from the sand dunes in the 1970s.

The famous Lewis chessmen were found not far from here. This is only here as we camped here for a break and it was a pleasant walk.
