Stone Circle Barbrook 2 SK 277 758 This is not easy to find, it is not marked on the map and we met a Park Ranger who didn’t know where it was (he thought we were lost as we were wandering in the heather in a gale with lashing rain) If you continue on the footpath for about 300 metres you will come to the start of a wire fence on the left. At this point a faint animal track heads NE which is the direction the circle is at another 300 metres or so from the path. You have to walk through countless cairn sites to find it but look for a patch of long grass beyond the cairns and the circle is hidden behind this. As it was raining it was hard to get a good photograph (any white spots are not stones - just water on the lens)
Views showing the stone bank
It is a large loose stone bank with stones set into it. The circle is about 20 metres in diameter and has been restored at some point. Inside the circle is a small cairn and a small stone with a hollow in it.

Cairns Go past the building there and follow the grass track until you are beside the reservoir. There is a grass track which leads to this circle which is a short distance east of the reservoir. The stones are very small and hidden in grass which form a large circle about 30 metres diameter with about 21 stones.
