In 1964 the six stones were moved to their present site in the Harthill Greenhouse in Calderstones Park where they were erected in random order. 

The Calderstones Palmhouse

 If the gate is locked a key can be obtained from the Park Rangers office. One of the rangers showed us around and gave us a lot of interesting information as well as a tour of the park. (The gates are locked in winter as the greenhouse is kept heated with gas fires for the palms)
 

 

The Allerton Oak

Walking around the park we saw the oak believed to be about 700 years old and the beautiful Japanese gardens featuring a lot of natural stone dating back to the 1970 period.

The Japanese garden was started in 1974 and is a very peaceful place in the middle of the city

Robin Hood's Stone
Standing Stone
Liverpool

On the corner of Archerfield Road and Booker Avenue in Liverpool stands a tall upright slab of red sandstone (Almost 8 feet 2.4 metres).

       

Robin Hood's Stone

Before its present siting in August 1928, the stone stood in a nearby field known as Stone Hey. The stone was moved when the site was to be built over. A plaque on the base of the stone records the bearing from its present position to its former site; 198 feet at a bearing of 7 degrees east of true north.
