We made a return visit to the circles at Penmaenmawr in early February 2001 on what became a foggy day to find a site we had previously missed on an earlier walk.

Stone Circle
Red Farm
SH 732 750

From the Jubilee car parking space at SH 731 759 follow the path and later the sign for Druids’ Circle. As you approach the Red Farm building on the right just before you go through a gate look for a field gate on the left. This opens to the field before the one with the large stone in it opposite the house.

Red Farm Stone

This gate is chained shut but is not locked. About 100 metres to the southeast four stones can be seen near a pole. This small arc of stones is all that remains of quite a large site, estimated to be an oval of around 80 by 70 feet (25 by 21 metres).

Further along the footpath you will see this small circle of five stones on the left with Druids’ Circle usually visible in the west unless it is foggy. For more details on the site and sunny pictures go to Circle 275.
