Standing Stones
SH 607 321

Return to the lane and back to the junction. Just to the left of the junction is a standing stone. On the way back towards Eisingrug you will pass two more before reaching the place where the footpath joins the lane. Here there are two more standing stones and a lot of sheep.

Cairn Circles
SH 610 324 and SH 611 324

It is not easy to park here at SH 607 321 as stones have been put along the verges and someone has painted “No parking” on a stone. From here take the footpath with tyre grooves to a gate, then pass two more standing stones and another gate to reach the two cairn circles in about ¼ mile. Just before you reach them there are traces of old constructions on the left and what seems like a very old wall line which stops at the west circle which is just to the left of the path. On the top of the hill to the east is the site of an ancient settlement.

The western circle is about 18 feet (5.4 metres) diameter and has about 12 stones between 1–3 feet (0.3–0.9 metres) in height. There are several other smaller stones around the circumference of the circle as well as a verge of stones bordering the ring. Most of these are overgrown and the width of this feature is about 5 feet (1.5 metres). The largest stone is pointed and lies to the west of the circle.

Looking to the west

About 120 feet (40 metres) uphill to the east is a second circle. This is also about 18 feet wide and about 20 feet (6 metres) higher in elevation. There are around 20 stones between 1-2.5 feet high in the structure. About 12 feet (3.6 metres) to the west appears to be two fallen stones that are in line with the tallest stone in the first circle. The edge of the circle is surrounded with hummocks, possibly buried stones from the cairn. The views here are very pleasant and makes an enjoyable walk.
