Stone Circle
Moel Ty Uchaf, Llandrillo

OS Map 125
SJ 057 371

Directions
Take the B4401 turnoff at Corwen on the A5 and head towards Llandrillo. Go for about 4 miles and turn left into a lane by a telephone box. If you reach the town you’ve missed the turning. Go up the lane until it reaches a junction and opens out wider with a gate across the track in front. Park in the space here and go through the gate.

Head uphill for about a mile and when you see trees ahead look to the skyline on the left of the path. You will see the stone circle come into view on the rise.

This circle is in a beautiful setting. It is about 39ft (11.9m) across and consists of 41 stones. There is an outlying stone to the NNE and a cairn to the south.

Llandrillo - Ring of Tyfos

In Aubrey Burl’s “Guide to Stone Circles” he says it is possible that originally there was a free standing stone circle here with over 20 stones enclosing an area of about 55ft (16.8m) across.
