Meini Gwyr
Stone Circle
SN 142 267

This is opposite the pub on the A478 from Cardigan and is a couple of miles SE of Gors Fawr. There is a small parking space beside the gate that provides access to the site .

The two remaining stones

This is an embanked circle of originally 17 stones but only two remain now to the southeast. The bank is still visible and is about 37m across and was up to 1m high.

A short distance to the west are 3 stones, 2 of them standing called “The altar”. There is no access to the stones as they are behind private houses. This is the same for the cairn circle just up the A478.

Carn Besi
Burial Chamber
SN 156 270

NE of Meini Gwyr on the A478 is a small burial chamber beside the road. Park by the reservoir layby and carefully cross the busy road. Climb up the bank and you will see the capstone in the field beyond the double barbed wire fence.
