Ring Cairn

The circle is signed from the main road in the north of the town near the ambulance and fire station. It is positioned with houses around it in a quiet cul de sac. Surrounding the kerbstones are five stones from the outer circle with one of them fallen and one partly in a hedge. It is an interesting setting for a circle. There is no trace of a central cairn.

While we were there it seems the local children use it to see if they can go all the way round without touching the ground.

On the A95 near Lachgie just 100m east of the road is a ruined ring cairn with just the kerb remaining and only 2 stones of the circle standing. Unfortunately there are no stopping places on this quite busy road. We could see the cairn fenced of in a field of cattle and it is very overgrown with clearly no access to it.
