Brodick Stones
Standing Stones

We had to return to Brodick as this is the only place on the island with a cash machine and we came across a large standing stone on the roadside to the north of town near the school.

Before heading for Lochranza for the morning ferry we drove round the castle grounds at Brodick as I saw there were standing stones here. The man at the gate said it wasn’t worth it as there was “nothing written on them” but they were quite impressive even if you were not allowed in the field at the moment. There are three stones here with the northern mountains behind them.

Camping on the beach north of Lochranza. The man at the ferry said we could sleep in the carpark but the beach was better.
