From Corrimony return towards Drumnadrochit but take the left turn at Mitton signed Beauly on the A833 and carry on for about 10 miles. Turn left to Kiltarlity and go through the town, go over a bridge and after a short distance look for a group of large trees on the left. The ring cairn is among these trees.
The ring cairn and two outer stones beyond the tree
The circle is very overgrown and hard to see any detail but it is about 22 metres diameter with an inner ring cairn of about 14 metres across.
Nettle covered cupmarks
Two of
the kerbstones of the cairn have cupmarks, one in the south and one in the
northwest that we found after getting stung by the nettles in the process.
The ring cairn has an almost continuous ring of stones and the centre of the cairn is hollow rather than raised. We counted 12 stones around the outer ring, some are in the next field and some are deep in vegetation, most were up to 1 metre high but there could be a lot more smaller ones in the weeds.
