First manufactured by RDM Consultants in 1989. This one or two channel machine moved from the fixed programme microprocessor of the CFAM1 to a DOS based system. It used a digital signal processor for signal filtering and FFTs. It was eventually produced in basic and research versions. The research version allowed a database of recordings to be acquired on a hard disc, backed up onto a streamer tape. Data could be allocated to categories by the user, for example awake and asleep. Statistics could be computed and exported to spread sheets. A start was made on training software for automatic category recognition. The data analysis part of the software could also be run on a PC.
