CFAM Training In Intensive Care Units nursing staff may join and leave at frequent intervals. To get the best performance from your CFAM brain monitor in Intensive Care it is helpful to have a rolling training programme for nursing staff. Aim to have at least one nurse on each shift who is expert at applying and removing electrodes, recognising CFAM indicators of artefactual activity as well as clinically significant events, and who can ensure that an adequate recording is being undertaken. If your hospital has a Department of Clinical Electroencephalography then that Department may be able to assist in the rolling training programme as well as acting as a Consultancy.
