Status epilepticus. Each seizure is marked by an abrupt rise of amplitude and increase of beta band activity plus the appearance of small amounts of scalp muscle activity. These peaks then reduce until the next seizure.

WARNING. Please lease take note that in some cases, in coma, you can get a similar appearance to the above amplitude plot from a scalp muscle response typically to a sound or a tactile stimulus. However, the unprocessed EEG trace will not show any seizure activity, just low- pass filtered muscle. Check if the subject has become decerebrate.
