Record from 2 day old term baby who suffered intrapartum asphyxia and had prolonged seizures brought under control by drugs at the time of the recording. The child shows mild global delay at the age of 1 year.
One advantage of seeing the unprocessed EEG is that at low signal amplitudes the signal may be contaminated with ecg. In this example the ecg contributes to the higher amplitude part of the amplitude distribution. However the lowest amplitudes reached , here below 0.5uVpk to pk, will represent the lowest EEG amplitude. The bars in the L (50Hz interference) plot are interference from an incubator. It is causing peaks in the amplitude trace, possibly from an intermittent contact as it switches on or off.
