The scoring system for club galas
is based on the BAGCAT and
GB points systems and aligns the club galas with the
Somerset Age Groups, the Western Counties and the National Championships.
Points are awarded for times not finishing position. The system also
allows swimmers to concentrate on their best strokes as they get older.
All four stokes count for the 8 and unders, 3 strokes
count for the 9 to 12 years and only 2 strokes for those 13 years
and older.
The points system for each age
group is as follows.

Age group trophies are awarded to the boy and girl in each age group with the highest points total
over all four galas.
