When the house was built it had an open hall from floor to roof between the two 'wings' and sometime in the past they were connected thus providing a large area which makes a delightful private lounge - overlooking the back garden - for our guests. It has a colour TV, a bookcase containing not only books, magazines, tourist information but wine and beer glasses/iron/sewing kit/a spare hair dryer and a few games. Owing to the age of the house (approximately 600 hundred years old) the floor slopes a bit, but after a visit to one of the local hostelries it soon seems level! There is also a computer, if you need to use it for work or e-mails please ask.

This photograph shows some
restoration work being carried out
on the main base cruck. If the house
was built about 1320C - how old is
this beam?
