 Identification – There is only really one acknowledged subspecies of the Horsfield Tortoise, but there are differences which are noticeable depending on origin of the tortoises.

 Sexing – Once they get to a certain size Horsfield Tortoises are very easy to sex

 Accommodation – In Modern Britain there is no reason not to provide an artificially enhanced environment to emulate the country of Origin of the Horsfield tortoises

 Feeding – A natural Diet is best, if this is not possible then certain foods are better than others

 Supplements – Provision of a source of Calcium is essential, plus other supplements on a less regular basis.

 Breeding – What to think about if you decide that you would like to breed from your tortoise

 Incubation – Methods, emergency incubators, temperatures and Humidity

 Hibernation – Horsfield tortoises would hibernate in the wild, they would also aestivate in the summer but not for as long as the UK climate would expect.
