Oil Tanks

What more could you ask for, rising
spring tide, coloured water, good swell on the beach and dogfish - 8 to be
precise on whole squid. In between the pout were having a good go at the bait
but could only grasp it and let go in the surf (evidence 3 x half pounders on
the beach). Well just have to keep on trying.

Fished the incoming tide (what
there was of it), beautiful night, but the only fish was the one usual culprit -
7 reasonable size dogfish on mackerel, hermit crab and ragworm. We need some bad
weather to stir things up.

Having read
with interest the latest thread on the forum, took advice and went fishing over
the low tide last night. Forget to go and buy any bait so raided the freezer for
mackerel and sprats. Beautiful night, bright moonlight, no wind and a
good bashing of swell on the beach. Just the usual culprits - doggies and more
doggies then bang, the short rod doubled over, line screamed off the real and 5
minutes later a very nice 9lb bass lying at my feet. Just fishing 30 yards out
with half fillets of mackerel.
