Thanks to Stephanie for the links.
Gina sent in a few links and I'm only getting around to posting them now. Consider them a Christmas present.
A bit of an update about Slow Moving Millie, that's Amelia for those that didn't know.
She's signed to Island records and has an album of 80s covers coming out next month called Renditions.
The first single is the Smith's "Please Please Please", available to download from tomorrow. It will also be used for the John Lewis Christmas ad which premieres during "X Factor" on Saturday.
The first radio play is tomorrow morning (11/11/11) during Fearne Cotton's Radio 1 show. You Tube and Facebook are doing a sneak preview of ad from tomorrow and the video of the single goes online tomorrow too.
So now you know. Go and buy!
Thanks to Imen and Sarika who both got in touch with news of a short film that Amelia has made called Olga?.
Also a belated tenth birthday to this page! Believe it or not I started it back in December 2000.
Gina tells me that there is a new song by the artist known as Slow Moving Millie.
There's a change of venue for Thursday's gig, it's now at The Elgin in Ladbroke Grove.
There are some nice pics of Slow Moving Millie performing on www.facebook.com.
Here's an alert on some upcoming Slow Moving Millie gigs. She will be playing at Monkeychews in Kentish Town, London on Thursday 13th May and at the Great Escape Festival in Brighton on Saturday 15th.
Check out the "Amelia Warner Web" site (amelia-warner.com/) for some recent photo additions. In particular these three caught my eye.
Thanks to Steph for the alert and to Amelia Warner Web for posting the images.
The artist known as Slow Moving Millie performed some live shows in March. Check her MySpace page (www.myspace.com/slowmovingmillie) for upcoming shows.
She also posted a new song called "Hart with a Crown and Chain" on her MySpace page and there's also anew picture there. Thanks to Gina and Steph.
And the wait to see The Echo is almost over. The region 1 DVD is released on 10 November 2009. Hopefully a region 2 DVD will not be far behind. Thanks to Gina for the alert. Here is the cover from Amazon:
Just a reminder that the single of Slow Moving Millie's song "Beasts" is available to download from today! The song is featured in a Virgin Media commercial.
The single of Amelia's song "Beasts" will be available to download on Monday!
Imen has a french blog on Amelia. You can check it out at amelia-warner.skyrock.com.
Imen also kindly sent in the following Amelia pics taken by Tania Nyberg. They are new to me. And I like one enough to use it for a new logo image.
Amelia wrote and performed the song for this Virgin Media commercial that is currently being shown on UK TV. The song will be available on iTunes from 18th August.
Ah, Summer! Another washout! As I type this I can hear the constant sound of rain.
I've given the look of the site another "tweak" and done some work with the stylesheet and the older pages. I'll need to fix up the image gallery next. If I'm missing any images you have of Amelia please send them in and you'll get the credit.
I've been meaning to organise an email Q&A with Amelia. If you have any questions you want to ask her send them in and I'll put them on the list. If I get enough questions I'll send them off for her answers.
Big thanks to Steph for getting in touch with some new trailers for The Echo:
I've just seen the new Korean trailer for "The Echo". It's pretty scary and has got more of Amelia in it :) Here's the official Korean website (with the trailer and photos): www.echo2009.co.kr
Dread Central's also updated their website with the Korean trailer so we can compare the two trailers: www.dreadcentral.com
The Echo has a Korean release date of 28 May 2009.
Amelia has been busy writing and recording music all summer. She wrote the music to an orange commercial called "rewind", which you can find at www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIY3-ECJQlg.
She's also just done the video for The Streets new single "Everything is Borrowed" which is on youtube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8BHL5SWX0Q.
No news on the release date for The Echo yet. I'll post it here as soon as I know.
