The Baby of Macon (1993)

"What do I have to do to get off this movie?"
And Julia replies, "I don't know, but if you do find out please tell me!"

I don't like this movie very much. I know it's an arthouse movie. I know that it's not supposed to have a conventional narrative. I've read about what Greenaway was trying to do with it.

But I just don't like it.

I read a review of one of Greenaway's other movies. It said something like, "This movie is not Greenaway's worst. That honour stills goes to The Baby of Macon."

The story? There's this big play and Julia is an actress in the play, and she gets killed. For real, only everyone thinks she's acting.

Only the movie isn't that interesting or watchable.

By the way, one of the most frequently asked questions that I was asked when I started this page was "where can I buy a copy?" I assume that everyone who wants a copy is a fan of arthouse cinema and is not actually looking to see Julia completly naked...

Of course it's out on Australian DVD now as well...
