Smilla's Feeling for Snow (a.k.a Smilla's Sense of Snow) (1997)

I liked this movie and in face for a while it was my favourite Julia Ormond movie. Here is a quick rundown...

It's based on the Danish thriller/modern classic Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow by Peter Hoeg. Just about everyone is in it, for example Richard Harris and Gabriel Byrne.

Our Julia is the Smilla of the title, originally from Greenland but with a rich American dad.  She suspects a young lad's death wasn't an accident and the search for the truth takes her back to her native Greenland.
