2007 news and updates
26 December 2007
Amazon UK are listing I Know Who Killed Me on DVD. It's due to be released
on 28 January 2008. Note the different cover design, although they are sticking
with the classy Lindsay pole-dancing theme (because that's obviously what sells DVDS).
5 December 2007
I just saw this on a Brad Pitt story at www.hollywoodtoday.net.
Also of note is “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,”
which brought Pitt to New Orleans for filming with adorable
daughter Shiloh this summer. The film co-stars Cate Blanchett,
Tilda Swinton, Elle Fanning and Julia Ormond. It’s due for release in November 2008.
25 November 2007
www.cinematical.com reports that
www.americangirl.com/movie has a trailer
for next summer's Julia release. I watched it. I'm fairly confident the movie is for kids.
Watch out for one second of Julia!
24 November 2007
I Know Who Killed Me is out on region 1 DVD on Tuesday 27 November 2007. Check out the DVD
cover. Lindsay! Pole-dancing! Classy!

Lettie says 'The actor [Santiago Cabrera] who plays the artist [Isaac Mendez] who can paint the future
in USA TV series
'Heroes' is appearing in the 'Che' film with Benecio Del Torro and Julia Ormond.
Now we know why he was happy to [SPOILER!] in 'Heroes'... the lovely Julia'.
Rodolfo sent me more material about The El Escorial Conspiracy
and I never got around to posting it here..
Here's a cool photo:

A nice summary of info on the movie:
www.laopiniondemalaga.es
Movie is filming for total of 12 weeks and the cast and crew
are hopping to numerous locations in Spain and Portugal
continually. Although the analogy is not made the history
covered by the film is something of the Spanish equivalent
of the English War of the Roses.
Julia admits that while her character
is a very important one in the history of Spain she
knowing about her "because I was a terrible
student." The article assures us the line was meant as a joke.
The movie is a Spain, German,
Italian and Portuguese co-production.
Some media coverage of the production:

Film footage is now on YouTube as well:

Lots of news from Rodolfo about The El Escorial Conspiracy.
According to
es.movies.yahoo.com
filming is taking place in Toledo, Segovia, Ciudad Real, Úbeda, Baeza, el Algarve (Portugal),
and El Escorial o El Viso del Marqués.
It's described as a "historical thriller"
revolving around a power struggle between the House of Alba and the House of Mendoza
The latter includes Ormond's character, the Princess of Eboli. Ormond describes her
character as "sexually liberated," "very intellectual, political and progressive."
She goes on to explain, "As an actress I love challenges, using a sword and taking
horse-riding lessons in order to be amazonial has been a great challenge."
According to
www.nachoares.com
the film cost 15 million Euros and premieres on September 5, 2008.
It also includes actual footage from the film. Click on the photo to go to the movie info.
I have "borrowed" these two photos of Julia with her fetching eyepatch!
Scroll down to the very bottom of the page to see a behind-the-scenes segment that's worth checking out,
although I don't recall seeing Julia in it.
Feel free to discuss the movie (and Julia's eyepatch)
in the Message Board!

Thanks to both Lettie and Rodolfo for alerting me to photos of Julia on the set of her new movie,
The El Escorial Conspiracy. Have a look at

Here's one image with a watermark:
Sorry for not scanning the You magazine article yet!
30 September 2007
The Julia article mentioned yesterday is indeed in today's 'You Magazine' that comes with the Mail on Sunday newspaper.
The article is three pages long and contains two typically lovely photos of Julia looking typically lovely.
Rest assured I will get around to scanning soon.
In the meantime here is a photo from www.dailymail.co.uk.
I don't recall seeing it on the page yesterday.
And here are thumbnail images of the pages from the e-edition of the paper.
29 September 2007
The online version of the Daily Mail newspaper has a long piece on Julia at
www.dailymail.co.uk.
It's dated yesterday but it's under the "You magazine" heading which is part of the Mail on Sunday. Might
be worth a look tomorrow.
28 September 2007
I Know Who Killed Me arrives on region 1 DVD in the USA on 27 November 2007.
In addition to the movie the DVD will contain the following:
Alternate Opening, Alternate Ending, Blooper Reel and Extended Dance Sequence.
Yes. That's right. Extended Dance Sequence. I assume they are talking
about the pole dance, so that'll help shift a few copies... No cover art yet.
There is a new version of the poster at

Lettie sent me her INLAND EMPIRE review and I've put in on the brand new
INLAND EMPIRE page!
16 September 2007
Rodolfo found a video clip on youtube about I Know Who Killed Me. The three lead actors
are interviewed, one of which is of course our Julia. She says she likes doing thrillers.
Have a look at
www.youtube.com.
Now, it's time for my thoughts on INLAND EMPIRE. I've decided to write my comments in the
style of David Lynch as much as I can.
SPOILER. Highlight below.
It's all about the RABBITS. And the GIRL IN THE HOTEL ROOM. She's been cursed
by the MAN WITH THE FINGER. The GIRL is trapped. BLUE TOMORROWS is cursed. LAURA DERN
is cursed but ESCAPES. LAURA DERN kills the MAN WITH THE FINGER. JULIA is probably cursed.
Are the RABBITS cursed? Mulholland Drive made a lot more sense...
11 September 2007
Jo alerted me to a story about the state of Julia's marriage over at
www.nypost.com.
It's sad news if true. I won't comment any more about it.
On a lighter note Mari send me a link to a
wikipedia article
about Julia's character in The El Escorial Conspiracy. Have a look at the painting. Eyepatch!
4 September 2007
Here's a story dated 3 September 2007 from www.variety.com.
Yet another new Julia film!
It's called The El Escorial Conspiracy and will be shot in Spain.
Ormond to star in 'Escorial'

By EMILIANO DE PABLOS MADRID —

King Philip II. It turns on the devious political turfwars fought by conniving factions.

roles in one these plots.
The shoot of the English and Spanish language project rolls from next Monday.
The pic will lense on locations in Spain and Portugal for 12 weeks. Isaacs will
join the shoot Sept. 12 while Ormond, who is now wrapping her role in David Fincher's

Del Real told Daily Variety.
Pic is co-produced by Del Real's Mascara Films, Germany's Rheingold Films,
Italia's Settima Luna and Portugal's MGN Filmes.
Del Real, Manuel Mir Juan Antonio Porto and Marta Rivera de la Cruz wrote the screenplay.
North American actor-producer Tony Peck will exec produce and also will have a role as an actor.

Good Lord, but Julia's keeping busy! Not that I mind!
I finally saw INLAND EMPIRE last week on DVD. I'll write a review once I've worked out what the
movie was actually about. Actually I think I'll put my comments into a thread on the message board as there will be spoilers.
18 August 2007
Just seen this quote in a review of Copying Beethoven, which has
been released in the UK. The reviewer doesn't like the movie and has
this to say about actress Diane Kruger:
Kruger fares no better, offering the kind of blank line readings and bored-stewardess expressions that Julia Ormond once made her trademark.
Source: www.list.co.uk
I actually find that amusing as it bears no resemblance to anything I've seen Julia acting in!
And I've become quite fond of Diane, so here's a gratuitous photo of her for no particular
reason.
Remember, INLAND EMPIRE is out on DVD in the UK next Monday.
11 August 2007
Jo has pointed out that the review of IKWKM at
www.fangoria.com
was actually positive!
It seems at least one reviewer was able to see past the Lohan antics and review the movie on it's
own merits. Here's one quote:
Performances are solid throughout, and although there are one or two flat line deliveries from Lohan (perhaps due to her personal issues during production) they are more than made up for by her entirely committed and hard-as-nails portrayal of Dakota (some of which is rather uncomfortable to watch, in light of her recent brushes with the law). Lohan and Ormond sell the strained possible mother/daughter dynamic as well, and the young actress and Geraghty make great use of the
comedic aspect inherent in their relationship.
But you should follow the link and read the whole thing.
the new issue of Total Film has an article the 10 most anticipated movies being made and
counts The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button as one of them. No mention of our Julia.
2 August 2007
Lots of reviews of IKWKM. Without looking too closely I think they are all negative.
At least two use the title "Dead on Arrival".
On a lighter note here is a story about Julia's
eye-rolling
talents.
28 July 2007
Mari send in this Celebrity Baby Blog link where Julia talks about Brad Pitt and children.
The original source was OK! Magazine, August 6 issue, pg 65-67
Mari also sent in these links about a press conference on human trafficking held by Julia.
The first link contains a video.
Lohan's antics are sure not to help I Know Who Killed Me. I'm not going to post every review
but here's one of the first ones I saw...
Lindsay Lohan is a horrible actress and she has an uncanny way of bringing even the
finest actors down with her. This time Lohan’s co-stars are Neil McDonough and Julia
Ormond, but even their talents cannot help hide Lohan’s mannish voice and unfeeling
performance in “I Know Who Killed Me.”
Source: metrospirit.com
I actually found a positive review!
Lohan brilliantly brings off her double turn and clearly believes in the picture, as do all who worked on it.

Looks like things are moving with the Che Guevara movie.
www.hollywoodreporter.com
reports that Benicio del Toro will play Che, and more to the point, Julia is still
connected to the movie. Maybe it's happening soon.
www.reuters.com reports that
Julia spoke at the UN on slavery this week.
There is an article about the DVD of INLAND EMPIRE at www.earthtimes.org.
www.iesb.net has
film clips and behind the scenes footage from I Know Who Killed Me.
16 July 2007
Here's a couple of photos of Julia in I know Who Killed Me.
I thought I'd include this one of Lindsay Lohan as she looks a bit like Julia in it. To my eye anyway.
I'll resist putting up the photos of Lindsay pole-dancing! You can find them on the IMDB if you are that way inclined. :))
Lettie tells me that she went to see the remake of The Hitcher and Neal McDonough was in it.
He plays Julia's husband in I know Who Killed Me. That guy is in everything.
There's a short article about The Curious Case of Benjamin Button at
www.allheadlinenews.com
2 June 2007
An article about the Kitt Kittredge movie on
www.reuters.com claims that
"production is slated to begin Wednesday in Toronto."
30 May 2007
Jo has let me know that there is an article about The Curious Case of Benjamin Button at
www.canada.com.
There's also an article about the Kitt Kittredge movie at
news.yahoo.com.
26 May 2007
There is now an official site for Julia's new movie at
www.iknowwhokilledme.com.
There is a trailer up and it looks interesting. The trailer is also available at
movies.yahoo.com
but it played at very low quality for me.
Here's a small picture of the poster:
The movie is out in the USA on 27 July 2007. Why not discuss it over on the message board...
12 May 2007
www.comingsoon.net
and other sites are connecting Julia with yet another new movie. This time it's
Kit Kittredge: An American Girl Mystery.
"The film tells the story of the clever and resourceful Kit Kittredge (Breslin),
a nine-year-old girl growing up in 1934 during America's Great Depression."
The live-action feature will star Abigail Breslin from Little Miss Sunshine (funny movie)
and is (it says here) "inspired by the line of dolls
and accessories." The film has set a release date of July 2, 2008.
I'm going to
go out on a limb and suggest that it just might be a kids movie...
7 May 2007
Today's
Independent online has an article called "Hollywood's British invasion" that mentions Julia's
role in the Mr & Mrs Smith spin-off.
25 April 2007
According to Amazon UK the region 2 UK DVD of INLAND EMPIRE is out
on 20 August 2007. Here's the cover image...
According to the imdb I know Who Killed Me has its US cinema release on 27 July 2007.
21 April 2007
A google news alert threw up three links to the new Julia movie Surveillance.
They all say the same thing so here is the first one:
Having made the monstrous mess of a movie that was 'Boxing Helena',
one would think that writer-director's Jennifer Lynch's career was over
before it had even begun, but this week, disturbing news reaches Time
Out towers. After nearly 15 years in the cinematic wilderness, Lynch
will be allowed back behind a camera to shoot a supernatural thriller entitled 'Surveillance'.
The film will focus on an FBI agent sent to a small town, where everyone
lies, nothing is what it seems and no one is safe.
Lynch wrote the script with Kent Harper, her father David will produce,
and the cast includes Pell James, Julia Ormond and Bill Pullman
(who must be a glutton for punishment having also appeared in 'Boxing').
'Surveillance' is to shoot in Canada later this month, unless this
story turns out to have been a big dream.
Source www.timeout.com.
18 April 2007
A quick visit to the IMDB today produced another new Julia movie!
Seriously!
It's called Surveillance and according to the site
the plot outline is as follows:
"An FBI agent tracks a serial killer with the help of three of his would-be victims -
all of whom have wildly different stories to tell."

Lots of google alerts in my inbox this week.
Here's one link. You can find the rest by doing a google news search.
Ormond Speaks Against Human Trafficking
Jo sent me this lovely photo from a Spanish publication.
She also sent in this lobby card from INLAND EMPIRE.

Check out this story. Look's like Julia is doing another pilot...
"Also at ABC, Ormond ("Iron Jawed Angels," Lifetime's "Beach Girls")
has joined Mr. and Mrs. Smith, which continues the story of
married assassins from the 2005 movie. She'll play Jane Smith's
(Jordana Brewster) boss in a role that would likely be recurring
if the pilot is picked up."

4 March 2007
The Daily Express newspaper has run a Brad Pitt related story about

3 March 2007
Lettie has alerted me to the fact that Julia was at the Vanity Fair Oscars party. I went searching
and found these really big scans...
I've finally set up a
Message Board. Get on over there and start the discussion!
INLAND EMPIRE opens in the UK on March 9th. It's presently being reviewed in the UK movie mags
who on balance appear to like it. But be warned, it's a David Lynch movie. I've liked some of his movies
very much. Some I have not. Also remember that it's three hours long!
I suspect Julia is not in it that much. If anyone sees the movie please leave you comments
on the message board.
3 February 2007
I know, I know, yet another new look...
First of all some 12 year old news. Jo sent me these two pictures from the May
1995 issue of Harpers & Queen. I've been meaning to put them on the page
for a while. (Not quite 12 years but it feels like it.)
According to the IMDB Inland Empire has it's UK cinema release on
9 March 2007.
wikipedia reports the US DVD Release on
8 June 2007.
the official site can be found at
www.inlandempirecinema.com.
The IMDB also has some news articles about Julia's new movie
I Know Who Killed Me. It appears that it's being shot right now. One story from late January
says that "Lindsay Lohan will be allowed to leave her rehab facility
during the day" and "she'll spend her days in downtown LA shooting the new thriller
before returning to rehab each night."
Also a story dated
19 December 2006 states that
"Lindsay Lohan faces an uncomfortable movie shoot after preparations for
her latest role as a pole dancer left her covered in bruises." It goes on to say
that "Lohan faces another
five weeks of discomfort while she completes the movie."
I wonder if Julia shoots her scenes at the same time? Anyway there you go, for what it's worth.
Michael told Lettie, who then passed this on to me. There's a French actress called Delphine
Forest who looks a lot like Julia. Here's the evidence in the form of a few pictures that I was able to find.
The first three images are clickable. Does anyone know anything about her? She seems to have stopped making movies if the IMDB is anything to go by.
