News & Updates
19 May 2007
Yes, I know. It's been almost a year since the last update. I had meant to do a redesign
and add the news that Don't Tell/Beast in the Heart seems to have had a DVD release
in some countries. Now Clive has got in touch with a whole load of Lucy-shaped news...
There is an Australian company that
will allow you to download Trinity for AU$3.95 for a 24 hour viewing. There must be
some rights-management to self-destruct after 24 hours. Its a 1.2Gb
download.
According to Digiguide, Lucy was in Holby City
in the UK last week. Doesn't show on the BBC site or the IMDB. I stopped watching
Holby a few months ago so who knows. She did appear in two episodes back in 2000
so maybe it's a mistake?
The more interesting news is a site that turned up accidently the other
day, which is the official site for a new film called Morris: a Life With Bells On. However, she's
not listed in the cast, only as the director. Check out
www.morrismovie.com.
Theres a lot of pictures of Lucy behind the camera there, and she has
assembled an amazing cast.
The news item that pointed me there was
portal.bournemouth.ac.uk
which indicates that they are filming at Poole on June 1st and need
people to volunteer to be extras. If anyone out there gets the job please drop me a line!
Thanks again to Clive.
8 June 2006
Broken News is out on DVD next Monday 12 June. Lucy has one little scene in it.
23 February 2006
I've just had a reply to an email I sent to Gary Boulton-Brown, the director of Lucy's movie Trinity.
He reports that he is in the process of
completing effects re-do's and is
working on the 5.1 sound remix for the 'directors cut' DVD! Lucy will also be recording a commentary. It is hoped that Trinity will be one of the first Blu-ray/HD-DVD independent releases, as well as having a
standard DVD release.
Thanks to Gary for taking the time to let me know the situation. I'll update the page as soon as there is something new to report.
19 January 2006
Has Lucy got a new agents? I found this link:
www.emptagehallett.co.uk/lucy_akhurst.htm
15 November 2005
Lucy finally showed up in episode 3 of Broken News last night.
It was a bit of a blink-and-you'll-miss-her part, but it's always nice
to see our Lucy!
27 October 2005
Broken News starts on BBC2 next Monday. The current Radio Times has a a photo of the (many) cast members and I have scanned the Lucy part of the photo!
24 October 2005
I just found this on Lucy's agent's site:
Lucy is about to start filming on Broken News, a new comedy programme for the BBC produced by Paul Schlesinger and directed by John Morton, the same team who created ''People Like Us''.

Clive has found some Lucy pics and I've put then on the

the broadcasts are probably archived on the BBC website.

12 May 2005
I've made a nice find on ebay. I got a 1999 issue of the TVTimes featuring a page (yes, a whole page!) on Lucy when she was appearing in Wonderful You.
As far as I am concerned the picture is very lovely and you can see a bit of it to the side of each page on this site. For the
whole image plus the actual words of the article go to my new "overflow" page at
uk.geocities.com/elcheapo3/lucyakhurst.
19 April 2005
Clive has alerted me to a new Lucy project as listed on her agents web site, www.macfarlane-chard.co.uk.
"Its an English/Italian co-production. Filming started in Italy in January and will also be partially shot in the US (Philadelphia).

the author): http://www.feltrinelli.it/foreign_rights/SchedaLibro?id_volume=5000216."
5 April 2005
I've just found a website dedicated to Lucy's unreleased movie Trinity.
24 February 2005
I found a photo online of Lucy at some charity thing a couple of years ago:
www.donfeatures.com
Series 3 of Ultimate Force was on TV a few weeks ago. I'm fairly sure Lucy wasn't in it, but I didn't look too closely.
6 December 2004
Clive has found a nice new picture of Lucy. Click here to admire.
It seems 'Every Seven Years' is down for some festivals. The
following links have more details on the film:
www.greatlakesfilmfest.com and
www.filmnetv.com.
4 November 2004
At no extra expense here is a Lucy Akhurst wallpaper in wonderful monocrome!
1 November 2004
I watched the first Lucy episode of Monarch of the Glen last night on BBC1. I am happy to report that Lucy was featured throughout the episode and looked very well. She had the longer blonde hair going on and a high cuteness rating. On my scale anyway. There are another three episodes to follow. It makes up
for the rubbish Trial and Retribution.
21 October 2004
This in from Clive:
The BBC Press Office has listed Lucy as appearing in the final four episodes of Monarch of the Glen. Her first appearance will be on Sunday 31 October, playing Tony (him from Buffy) Head's P.A. "And her character's name is Lucy, which is nice :-)"
Clive also found an audiobook that it looks like Lucy contributed to: Alan Gibbons - The Edge.
19 October 2004
I had the misfortune of sitting through Trial and Retribution last Monday and Tuesday evenings. What a
serious bag of kak and a waste of three hours of my life.
Lucy was in the thing for a total of two scenes and no more
than five minutes. She had long blonde hair this time and
was looking well as always.
At least the old episode of Taggert was daft but watchable.
4 October 2004
Trial and Retribution will be broadcast
next Monday and Tuesday (11 & 12 Oct) on ITV
from 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm each evening. Lucy's name
is still attached to the project on her agent's site
so I assume she's in it. Keep your eyes open!
Anyone seen her in Monarch of the Glen yet?
As her name was not in the cast list in the Radio Times I've not watched it yet.
27 September 2004
This is posted on Lucy's agent's website:
"Lucy has just started filming the first of 4 episodes in the BBC series Monarch of the Glen". I assume they mean the present series. The first two episodes have already been broadcast on BBC1 on Sunday evenings. I will keep an eye out for her in the cast list in future episodes.
I think Trial and Retribution will be on soon.
Last week the Irish station RTE broadcast the Taggart episode Lucy was in. I saw it in the listings by accident and made a (poor) recording. Not much help reporting this as "news" though!
13 September 2004
Gary Boulton-Brown, the director of Trinity, got in touch.
He informs me that there has been no official DVD release yet
so anything for sale is unauthorised.
7 September 2004
Is Trinity being released on DVD or video?
Check this link out...
31 May 2004
I got the following info and this very nice photo from the website of Lucy's agents
"MacFarlane Chard Associates".
They can be found
here.
Lucy is about to start filming on Lynda La Plante’s
Trial and Retribution directed by Paul Unwin for ITV.
Lucy recently screened Every Seven Years, a short film she
wrote, co-produced and starred in alongside Ian Harte and Greg
Wise which will be shown at festivals this year.
Also forthcoming, Lucy plays the lead female role in Trinity a
feature directed by Gary Boulton-Brown recently screened at WORLDFEST
Houston, Cinenygma Luxembourg International Film festival and The
Philadelphia International Film festival where it was in competition.
27 April 2004
At the weekend I found some Trinity movie info on the a site called
www.watchfireworks.com.
I followed it up with an email to the address provided and asked about a DVD release. This is the
reply I got:
Please be advised that TRINITY is not yet available on DVD/VHS and
there is not yet a date set for it's release.
So now we know.
4 April 2004
Notice the new look?
I've added a couple of new photos of Lucy that I found on the
Ultimate Force Yahoo group. The black and white promo image below is
very nice.
play.com is listing a region 2 DVD of Ultimate Force series 2. It's due to be released on
18 October 2004.
"Review
The complete second season of the hard-hitting military drama starring Ross Kemp as Sergeant
Henno Garvie, the tough and charismatic leader of Red Troop who, with his men, puts his life
on the line in the name of his country."
Please note the new address of this page.
Look here for any updates in the future.
6 November 2003
Anne-Marie sent me the link to her Yahoo Group dedicated to the Lucy-flavoured Ultimate Force.
I've put it on the links page so why not check it out.
7 October 2003
Eroica was indeed on BBC2 at the weekend. Lucy appeared about twenty minutes
into it. She (and the rest of the cast) didn't have a lot of lines and instead
mostly reacted to the music being played. So lots of looks of pleasure... smiles...
oh, slightly sad... no, no, I'm going to cry! ... ah, another smile... more pleasure... joy... etc.
Still, it was an unusual and enjoyable film and it's always nice to see our Lucy again.
Although I really think she never looked cuter than in Wonderful You.
The BBC website has an Eroica cast page
here.
I've stolen the lucy photo and blurb...
"Lucy's film appearances include Trinity, Big City Blue, Circus, Land Girls and The Saint.
Her TV Appearances include Ultimate Force ll, Manchild, In Deep, Spaced ll, Longitude, Beast,
Taggert and Preston Front. Stage appearances include Things You Shouldn't Say Past Midnight, The
Winslow Boy, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and Pride and Prejudice."
26 September 2003
Three months ago Clive let me know about a new
Lucy project that was in production called Eroica (click here for more details).
Trailers are now on the BBC and off the top of my head
it will be broadcast on BBC2 on Saturday 4 October 2003
at 9:15 p.m. I don't know how much Lucy content there
will be but I'll set my video anyway. If anyone sees Lucy in the Radio Times next week please let me know!
Dan dropped me a line to say she met Lucy while working on her movie Trinity. Anyone else met her? Grr!
16 September 2003
Once again thanks to Clive for finding new Lucy stuff first.
Yesterday she was in the BBC Radio 4 afternoon play.
Clive tells me that Radio 4 archives the afternoon play on their
website for a week so get visiting quickly!
BBC Radio 4 afternoon play

"A Fire In The West"
By Michael Butt.
Ciera Thomas set herself alight outside the Ministry of Defence, apparently
in protest at a recent arms deal. There were no warnings, no final
farewells. Three years later those left behind, her father, mother, sister,
and a former boyfriend, bear witness to a shocking event, as they continue
to try to make sense of what happened.
With Ken Sharrock, Kate Fitzgerald, Lucy Akhurst, David K S Tse.

A few Lucy-shaped items of interest...
I believe Circus is on Channel Five in the UK next Wednesday night, 2 July.
Lucy is in it for about a minute. I'll also be watching because Famke Janssen is in it.
I've watched the first two episodes of Ultimate Force. Lucy hasn't been in
it too much so far. She turns up, delivers some plot information in a posh accent
and then sort of hangs around in the background. And her hair-do is not the best she's
had. Meanwhile SAS men fire guns and shout at each other a lot.
This from Clive: It looks like Lucy is going to be starring in
a very prestigious role on TV soon in a program is called Eroica
Here's some info from the BBC...
A unique drama for BBC TWO by Nick Dear which focuses on the day in June
1804 when Beethoven's Third Symphony Eroica was first played in a private
rehearsal at the palace of the composer's patron in Vienna. BBC Classical
Music and BBC Drama are collaborating to recreate that day in a film drama
which allows viewers to feel the full force and emotion of a work which
changed the course of musical history. Eroica explores the story behind the
symphony, Beethoven's passion for his work, his unrequited love for an
unattainable woman and the reactions and observations of those who are
present.
Set against the revolutionary climate of the early 1800s, Beethoven (Ian
Hart) - who is suffering from a gradual loss of hearing - confounds his
audience by producing a score dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte (which he
later retracts), which surpasses the old classical style of his
contemporaries and introduces the new concept of a romantic style.
Beethoven's patron, Prince Lobkowitz (Jack Davenport), Count Dietrichstein
(Tim Piggott-Smith), Sukowaty the copyist (Anton Lesser), the Brunsvik
sisters (Claire Skinner and Lucy Akhurst) and Hayden (Frank Finlay) are all
in the audience to witness the premiere of one of Beethoven's finest and
ground-breaking works.
14 June 2003
Many thanks to Trix from the Unofficial
Ross Kemp Fansite
for this unexpected news. Lucy is appearing in series 2 of SAS drama Ultimate Force, which
begins Wednesday June 18 at 9 pm on ITV1 in the UK. She plays a
character named Pru Banks, who is an MI5 officer assigned as
liasion to Red Troop. Just to prove it here's a photo of Lucy with Ross Kemp.
13 May 2003
More good stuff from Clive. He tells me that Lucy was in the final
episode of the first series of BBC comedy Manchild. "She plays one of
two women hosts of a country retreat where the men go to
hunt and get away from it all. Its later revealed that the women are a
lesbian couple. Lucy is a hunting expert."
If you go to Image Gallery 2
you can find Clive's screen captures of Manchild and Beast plus a couple of scans I've
done from a Wonderful You publicity photo.
Lucy was also recently in a Friday Play on BBC
Radio 4 called Seven Minutes to Midnight.
Finally you can hear Lucy's voice on this
site.
9 April 2003
Clive has found some new Lucy material. First of all there are
two nice photos of her in the Image Gallery. They appear to be publicity
shots for a play. Does anyone have any information?
Also Trinity has resurfaced. It screens today at
the Philadelphia Film Festival. Follow the link
www.phillyfests.com to go to the
preview page. I've stolen the photo:
29 November 2002
Jim got in touch to tell me about Lucy's new play:
"Lucy is appearing in a theatre production called Things you shouldn't say past midnight
at the Soho Theatre in Dean Street, London. Tonight was the preview which I saw and it is
currently scheduled to last till 11th January. Though I await the critics verdict if I was
a reviewer I'd put it down as a must see.
As for Lucy, she was in it more than any other character and looked stunning, though her
lovely lips weren't to the fore as they have been previously. She was blonde with a new
hairstyle (I preferred the old style); her American accent was less satisfactory however.
I think over half her performance was in non-skimpy underwear & she engages in a lot
of sex talk & simulated sex at the beginning. Any fan of Lucy should see this production."
I got searching and I found this site. (No pictures
of Lucy that I could see.)
www.soho-theatre.com/homepage.
20 October 2002
Simon got in touch to tell me about Lucy's first screen appearance,
a pilot for a feature film called Big City Blue. "This was a
student film I was involved in and was directed by Paul W S Anderson
lately of Resident Evil fame. Shot in Newcastle she was about 15 at the time."
Simon also managed to see her on tour in the Winslow Boy last week.
12 October 2002
Clive got in touch with a whole bunch of Lucy related stuff that he found.
First of all it seems that Trinity has finally been screened and also
has a distributor. It was screened Aug/Sept this year at the Montreal Film Festival.
Here's a couple of links:
I've still not seen her apperance in Taggart but Clive has and he says:
"Lucy is one of the major characters, but she looks and acts very differently from
her normal characters. She has long red hair, and is playing a real bitchy
woman, who is an 'escort'."
Clive also found this small picture of Lucy on stage. The caption is
"Polly Adams, LUCY AKHURST and Edward Fox in THE WINSLOW BOY at the YVONNE
Theatre, GUILDFORD, SURREY - 21 AUG 2002.
Finally Clive did a bunch of screen captures from Taggart and
Spaced Series 2 and was kind enough to send them to me.
You can find them in the new Lucy gallery
20 June 2002
Many thanks to Clive for sending me four new Lucy pictures. Two are promos
for Wondeful You and the other two are screen captures from the movie
Circus where Lucy has a blink-and-you've-missed-her part. You can find them
in the Image Gallery.
12 March 2002
Channel 4 comedy Spaced (series 2) has just been released on Region 2 DVD
this month in the UK. Lucy was in three of the seven episodes so if you
need a fix you know where to find her!
5 February 2002
A quick report about In Deep. Lucy played one of two
sisters who were running a newspaper publisher. The other
sister got her children kidnapped by some Eco-warrior type
people. Lucy had a fair amount of screen time in the first
part but wasn't in the second part as much. Her hair is
back to blonde and was a bit longer than her very short
'do (as seen in Spaced last year). Nice to see her again!
17 January 2002
Hey, I've just discovered some great Lucy-shaped news in next week's Radio Times!
Her name is in the cast list of In Deep, a two-part crime
drama. It's on BBC1 at 9 pm on Monday 21 & Tuesday 22 January. It's a new
show that I've managed not to watch yet but that will obviously change next week.
I'll tape it just in case it's a Lucy feast and let you know what I thought
of it.
6 January 2002
Long time no updates, huh? I've not found anything to report which is why.
However I have created a new logo and done a general tidy up.
This really is not something that could be called "news", but a while back
I discovered a radio listing for Lucy. It seems she was in a
BBC Radio 3 play on Sunday 17 June 2001.
It was called The Conquest of the South and the blurb I found says
"Four of society's rejects seek to escape the depressing emptiness of their
lives by acting out Amundsen's famous expedition to the South Pole."
Lucy Akhurst played the part of "Rosi". So now you know.
Months and months ago Erich wrote about Lucy's role in the movie Circus.
It seems she's not in it much but at least we know where to look for her:
"I rewound the tape and zipped through it again, and this time I definitely
recognized her. She appears in one scene as the wife of enforcer/hitman Tiny
Lister, when the movie shows us a glimpse of his domestic life."
I've not seen any new Lucy goodies on the way. In fact I've only
seen a few repeats on some of my digital channels. For example
UK Gold was showing the first season of Beast towards the
end of last year and ITV2 was showing The Vanishing Man
a few months back.
If anyone discovered any Lucy news please get in touch. Thanks!
13 April 2001
Lucy
was in tonight's episode of Spaced on Channel 4. It's not
something I watch, not least because Buffy and Angel are on Sky One
at the same time, but I was channel flicking during the ads
and there she was. She had a very unflattering short black
haircut (probably from that Trinity movie) but still
managed to look nice and Lucy-shaped. I believe that the
same episode will be repeated tomorrow night (14 April).
17 February 2001
Lucy's second
appearance in Holby City is on UK Gold next Monday (19 Feb). I
think she is appearing in the second series of Channel 4's comedy Spaced
which starts on Friday 23 February.
4 February 2001
Clive
got in touch to tell me that he has done some screen grab
type pictures of Lucy from Wonderful You.
They can be found on his picture page. I've added
three to the Gallery.
21 January 2001
Three
episodes in and there's no sign of Lucy in Beast.
However the Times paper printed a little picture of her
along with their
review of an episode so I've scanned and added it to the Gallery.
Also if my TV listings are
correct then Lucy's first Holby City
will be on UK Gold on Monday 29th January.
29 December 2000
The new
series of Beast starts on BBC1 on 6 January 2001.
I don't see Lucy's name in the cast list so it's doubtful
she's in it, but I'll watch it just in case.
17 December 2000
Longitude
is being shown again on Channel 4 in the UK on 30 &
31 December 2000. Lucy appears throughout part 2 so check
it out.
30 November 2000
A little more news. Which is nice. Clive sent me a photo he
scanned from a TV magazine and it now makes a nice
addition to the photo
Gallery. I've also included a link to his page as you
may find it of interest.
Lucy is
making a new British movie called Trinity. (It has
just three characters, hence the name.) I've added a link
to the offical site and I've stolen a photo of her from
it. You can find that photo in the gallery as well. (It's
worrying that her character is described as looking
androgynous!)
Beast
is getting a second series so hopefully Lucy will be in
that.
A work
of thanks to those of you out there who have emailed me
about Lucy. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who
likes the gal! And any help you can send would be nice!
22 October 2000
I've added three small images that I found
on a search last night. You can find them on the Gallery page.
