Update  29 June 2008

I’ve just had an email from Andrew McCrorie Shand, the former Druid keyboard player.  Andrew, Cedric Sharpley and Neil Brewer have formed a new band called Tinderfish.  They’re halfway through recording an album of new songs which will be available exclusively via the Internet later in the summer. Gigs may follow too.  These guys have quite a musical pedigree, so the album is sure to be excellent.  It goes without saying that everyone is strongly encouraged to buy it.  Keep a close eye on the Tinderfish web site for more news as it develops.

Also, I’ve finished transferring Bryan’s tape to CD and corrected a mistake in the track list.

Update 10 June 2008

Well, I’ve eventually found the time to update the site and I’m pleased to say that the update is a significant one.  We have an interview with Bryan Fitzpatrick and a new recording from the Horn of Plenty.  In addition, there are some new entries in the Hall of Fame and some more Memories.  Finally, Eric and I will be at the GBBF on Friday 8th August if anyone fancies a beer.  Email me for meet-up details.

Update 18 February 2008

Bryan Fitzpatrick found!  Out of the blue, I had an email from Bryan the other day.  He’d been listening to a Never Never Band tape from the Horn of Plenty, which inspired him to call his old mate Neil Brewer.  Neil told him about the web site and he emailed me ‘in a state of shock’ having seen it, offering to supply as much info as he can remember.

Bryan lives in Bristol and has been playing with Marty Wilde for thirteen years.

From what he’s told me about his Horn tape, it seems it’s not one we have already.  ‘A terrible recording, but it captures the spirit of the band’  according to Bryan.

Bryan and I will be doing a Q&A session via email in a week or so.  If there’s anything in particular anyone would like to know, email me and add it to the list of questions.

In the meantime, have a look here for a picture and here for a YouTube video.

Also today, we have a new entrant to the Hall of Fame.

Finally, it’s time we started making plans for a meeting at the Great British Beer Festival in August.  Anyone up for it this year?

Update 11 November 2007 (at last!)

Some more Bryan Fitzpatrick information (thanks Ian Boreham).

Pictures of the (former) Red Lion, Bicester (thanks Steve Cannon and Dave Awcock).

A Penny Farthing gig list from 1982 (thanks Mike Poole and Dave Awcock).

Update 9 September 2007

Nothing new to report really, but I thought I’d better let you know that the site is still active.  There’s an update on the Links page, but it has no NNB relevance.

Update 21 July 2007

A new venue picture.  LA Forum?  Madison Square Garden?  No, it’s the original Theatre of Dreams - Colney Heath Village Hall!

No NNB relevance, but a great new link for music lovers of a certain age.

Also, I think I’ve sent CDs to all who have been waiting.  If you’ve been expecting a package from me that hasn’t arrived, I’ve either forgotten you or it’s been delayed by the recent disruption to the postal service.  Send me an email if you’re still waiting.

Finally, for those who fancy a beer but have missed it on the Forum, Eric and I will be going to the Great British Beer Festival at Earl’s Court on the evening of Thursday 9th August and again all day on Friday 10th.  We’ll see you all there (unless you’re all going to Cropredy with Dave Awcock).  Very bad diary management Dave - can you arrange for the Cropredy people to chose the date more carefully next year?

Update 26 June 2007

Another Hall of Fame inductee.

Also, keep an eye on the Forum for Great British Beer Festival arrangements.

Update 13 June 2007

Dane speaks!  See the Forum page.

Also, a Hall of Fame update.

Update 28 May 2007

I’ve sent CDs to those who’ve been waiting.  I think I’ve remembered everyone, but if you’ve been expecting some and not yet received them, please send me a reminder.

I’ve put the Never Never show from the Board Hotel on the shared GoogleMail account as MP3s.  Anyone who doesn’t have it on CD can download it from there.  Email me for login details. The best way to download the tracks is to use Firefox and its Gspace add-on.  Both are free and highly recommended.

Update 19 May 2007

Some links to pictures of NNB venues (thanks Dave Awcock) and another apology to those waiting for CDs from me.  I’m just burning a batch now, so they’ll be with you very soon.  Also, I hear that The Bay Leaf Restaurant, Eynsham (formerly The Board Hotel) now has monthly live music events (thanks Yvonne Wright). Could this be the thing that triggers a reunion?  Well, probably not, but we continue to hope!

Update 24 April 2007

More venue pictures (thanks Dave Awcock) and a fan identity update (thanks Dave Church).

Update 17 April 2007

Sorry for the absence of updates folks, but nothing much has been happening.  We do, however, have another inductee in the Hall of  Fame and a new Venue added.  Also, don’t forget to check the Forum regularly, because any updates there won’t be listed on this page.

Update 26 March 2007

Another stalwart in the Hall of Fame.

Update 18 March 2007

Nothing new to report in the way of pictures or recordings, but I wondered if we have any musicians out there who know how to play any of the songs.  I would love to have a go at playing City Love, Leave Me Alone or Tuesday Morning for my own amusement, but I’m not very good at working out guitar chords. Any offers?

Update 17 March 2007

Some more Venue pictures and info.  Thanks Dave Awcock.
