A ticket emerges! The picture is supplied by Sam from Eynsham, who reports that the show in question was the first by the mark 2 line-up. Peter Birkin only knew three or four of the songs, so there was a degree of recycling within the set list that night!

Another recording surfaces! The mark 1 line-up was recorded at The Red Lion, Bicester, in April 1980. (Thanks Tim Fox.) Tim reports that the band was thrown off the Shakin’ Stevens tour after Neil was spotted standing at the side of the stage during Shaky’s performance wearing a monkey suit!

Also, a Never Never Band online archive of recordings is under construction, using the 2.8 gigabytes of free storage that a GoogleMail account provides. The tracks will go up as and when I find the time and, eventually, everything we have will be downloadable in MP3 format. Everyone will be able to upload anything they find (music, pictures etc.) to it. I won’t put the login details here, in case the account is abused, so email me for the username, password and conditions of use.

Anybody fancy a beer? Eric and I have been talking about having a Never Never fan meet at the Great British Beer Festival at Earl’s Court in August. See the Forum for the discussion.

Also, if anybody’s waiting for CDs from me, I’ve probably forgotten, so please feel free to send me a reminder email.

Finally, the domain name www.theneverneverband.com, until recently the home of a really cheesy ‘Under Construction’ page, is now available, should anybody fancy shelling out a tenner or so to own it.

The mark 1 line-up studio recording has been upgraded, using (mainly) Mik’s tape, but with bits of the one supplied by Neil Brewer spliced in to make it complete.
