My Story
If you are looking at this page then firstly I am sorry but hopefully you will find some helpful information here to set you on the coarse of recovery!
It was May 2010, I just got back from our family holiday in spain, wife was back at work , kids at school.
I was going through some sort of nervous breakdown, I was experiencing disaster fantasies that would be something aweful happening to my children or I was convinced my wife was having an affair.
Trouble was that my mind was telling me that these thoughts were facts, it ended up with me taking the children in the middle of the night, my wife woke up early the next morning to find me and the kids were gone.
This situation sorted itself out and resulted in me having to see a pyschiatrist!
After going through my live story with the Pyschiatrist i was diagnosed has having PTSD!
The good news is that now a year later and many sessions with a TA therapist i am managing the PTSD and leading a fairly normal life!
So there is hope, the first thing you need to do is get help, build a support network!

You will need to talk to a trained counciler or healthcare proffesional!
You need to focus on the good things in life!
The reason you are experiencing PTSD is because your feelings and your mind are not in balance, how we feel is a product of our senses and our response to what is going on around us, with PTSD your feelings dont match your external conditions so your mind will create things that will match how you feel!
You may be on constant alert, sleep problems, depression and you may experiencing many problems for no apparant reason!
For me this was caused by something that happened to me when i was ten years old!
The thing was so traumatic that i could not handle it at the time and its got buried in my mind, deep inside totally hidden from my day to day thinking!
Then in may 2010 when my life was settled enough it came back to haunt me, i had never really told anyone and i never really thought it had affected me that much but i discovered that infact it affected everything in my life ever since!
Ever since "it" i turned to writing music, music that relaxed me, music that is deep and has meaning!

i found these statements really helpful when I first began my battle with PTSD!
Thoughts are not facts!!!
This statement repeated when one feels bad about oneself-- " Iam not bad I am good, I was only ever made to feel bad, how i feel is my mind trying to justify how i feel but i now know that i am not bad i am infact good, I have always been good!
You need to repeat this often, because eventually you will begin to believe it!

I have a closed group at facebook, if you want to join then freind me at facebook and then ask me to join! It is avery safe place to share and get advice, the group is closed and only people who I invite personally can join!
There are a few members, we are a very caring and supportive group, members of the group include councilors and we also have a proffessor of Pyschiatry!
The are many forms of help these include,
TA Therapy, this is the one i choose, it will change your personality, I chose this one because throughout my life I had built a security personality, when the PTSD hit my personality was broken, totally broken and I had to rebuild a new person with authentic personality!
EMDR, This is a new form of pyscho anlysis that involvles eye movement, similar to what happens in our sleep!, it is very powerful and effective!
One to One person model counciling, I went through this also which led to TA therapy..
