CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR DISTRICT PEACE POSTER WINNER BRYONY STEVENS-YOUNG AND THE LIONS CLUB OF CHEDDAR VALE
It has been announced by Lions Club International that Bryony is one of the 23 merit award winners of the International competition. There were 350,000 entries from 75 countries and the Grand Prize Winner is Ming Yang Soong from Malaysia, if you log on to the International web site the winning poster is displayed. In a world when we hear so much about war and strife it is heart-warming to hear that young people are able to voice and display their idea of peace.
We are now on the homeward stretch for our District Convention and by the time this newsletter arrives at your Club meeting it will have come and gone, the committee will be breathing a sigh of relief and starting to think about 2009. I am sure that in next month's newsletter I will be reporting the outcome; who were the prize winners in the District Competitions and of course the coveted visiting Lion competition.
