Booking Conditions
PAYMENT. Unless otherwise stated, a deposit of £200 of the rental fee is payable if the booking is made 12 weeks before the start of the rental. The balance shall be payable 4 weeks before the commencement of the rental. Non-payment of the balance of the rent on or before the due date shall be deemed as a cancellation of the contract by the client. For bookings made less than 4 weeks prior to the commencement of the rental the total fee is payable. Payments may be by cheque or cash.
CANCELLATION. Any cancellation made by the client for whatever reason
shall be in writing and addressed to Peggy MacLeod at Lynn Cottage, Tarbert,
Isle of Harris, HS3 3BG. On receipt of notice of cancellation I will seek to
re-let the property for the period of booking – if she succeeds in re-letting the
property for the whole period she will refund all monies paid less an
administration charge of £20 per week booked.
In the event of
the Cottage being unable to be re-let then all monies paid by the client shall
be forfeited. You are strongly recommended to take out Cancellation Insurance.
PERIOD OF HIRE. Rentals commence unless otherwise negotiated at 4 p.m.
on the day of arrival and terminate at 10a.m. on the day of departure.
NUMBER OF PERSONS USING THE PROPERTY. The number of persons occupying the
property must NOT exceed EIGHT.
BREAKAGE or DAMAGE. The client is legally bound to reimburse Peggy
MacLeod for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs on demand.
CARE OF PROPERTY. The client shall take all responsible and proper care
of the property. Its furniture, pictures, fittings and effects in or on the
property and leave them in the same clean and tidy condition and state of repair
and condition at the end of the rental period as at the beginning.
SMOKING.
No smoking is allowed within the property.
PETS. No pets allowed.
RIGHT OF ENTRY. The property caretaker shall be allowed the right of
entry to the property at all reasonable times for the purposes of inspection or
to carry out any necessary repairs or maintenance.
CANCELLATION INSURANCE. Cancellation Insurance is advised.
TRAVEL DISRUPTIONS. Where there are ferry/plane disruptions due to bad weather conditions or any form of industrial action, I cannot be held responsible for non-arrival at the cottage and no refund will be given.
LIABILITY. Peggy MacLeod shall accept no liability to the Holidaymaker for any loss, damage or injury howsoever caused to the Holidaymaker or to the Holidaymaker’s personal property.
Each booking is made in good faith with the belief that the cottage will be available to the tenant on the date stated. If the cottage becomes unusable, for whatever reason prior to the date of your booking, then my obligation to you is this (a) to endeavour to find you suitable alternative accommodation, or failing that (b) to reimburse you for any monies paid.
