Record & CD Fairs 2008
We organise a variety of Record and CD Fairs in Cheshire, Derbyshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire and have been doing so since 1977. New dealers are always made very welcome. Details of 2008 Fairs are listed below: -
BIRMINGHAM: The Irish Centre, Digbeth High Street. This Fair is being held in the large ballroom of the venue. Easy loading, free parking around the venue's streets. This Fair is right in the heart of Birmingham and we'll be giving this extensive publicity. SUNDAY NOVEMBER 16th. Stalls £25
BUXTON: 2 day sales at the Grove Hotel, Grove Parade. Free entry both days. SATURDAY/SUNDAYS 9/10th August, 6/7th September, 20/21st December. Stalls £15
BURTON-ON-TRENT: Meadowside Leisure Centre, High Street DE14 1TL. Cafeteria on site. This is a VERY BUSY Fair and full of ardent collectors. 12 stalls. SUNDAY dates to be re-arranged Stalls £20
CHESTERFIELD: Riverside Club, Hollis Lane S41 7RA. SUNDAY August 17th, November 23rd. Only 2/3 minutes walk from the famous crooked spire. Brand new refurbished building with 8ft Stalls £20.
CREWE: Conference Centre, Manchester Metropolitan University Campus, Crewe Green Road. SUNDAY November 2nd. 700 students live on-site. Massive publicity campaign on this one. Stalls £20.
DERBY: Aston Lodge Hotel, Midland Road DE1 2SL. SATURDAY October 18th. Great Saturday Fair for the East Midlands. Right opposite the main Derby Railway Station. Stalls £20 and already selling fast. Our first two fairs have been very successful. N.B. This Fair has now reverted back to Saturdays.
MATLOCK BATH: Fishpond Hotel, Matlock Bath. Check out www.thefishpond.biz for more details. Free entry to the Record Stalls. Full Fair on SATURDAYS July 26th, August 30th, September 13th. Stalls £15 each.
NEWCASTLE-U-LYME: High Street Open Market. 8am-3pm (4pm in Summer). THURSDAYS. Up to 4 record stalls (next to Woolworth's/Nat West Bank). See Record Collector Magazine April page 122.
SHREWSBURY: Midland Red Social Club, Spring Gardens SY1 2TB. This is a new venue, bigger with more tables and immediately off the main road leading into the town centre (right by the Midland Red/Arriva Bus Garage). Shrewsbury generally has a good local following of customers and the first event at the new venue was very busy. Bar and refreshments available. SUNDAY September 21st. Stalls £20
STOKE-ON-TRENT: NOTE WE ARE NOW AT THE COBRIDGE COMMUNITY CENTRE, off WATERLOO ROAD Up to 25 tables and a very good local turnout of customers as seen in the photo's above. Bar and refreshments available. Last SUNDAY of September, October, November. Stalls £23 or £45 for a double. See January RECORD COLLECTOR page 120 for more details.
TELFORD: Belmont Hall, Wellington. Long established Fair at the top of the pedestrian precinct. This Fair has a strong local following. Up to 14 stalls. SATURDAY October 25th. Stalls £20
All fairs are ground floor (apart from Burton which has a lift to the room) All Fairs are free parking apart from Burton which has plenty of off-street Sunday parking.. All Fairs offer a free valuation service and all are free entry apart from Chesterfield, Derby and Stoke (all 50p). All Fairs start at 10am and run to 3.30/4pm.
